Original Springs Mineral Spa & Hotel

Went to Elizabeth on Sat for my first ever reflexology treatment. I have never been to any type of massage/therapist/spa thing before and I was quite unsure of what to expect. I have numerous things going on with my body and after meeting . She had such intuitive hands as if she knew what was hurting like as if my body talked and her hands heard .\r \r \r It was the best, most amazing experience ever. Elizabeth puts you right at ease! Very professional too. Her room is so cute, warm and inviting! just relaxing!\r \r \r I went into the little room and laid down and Elizabeth did her thing! It was amazing! The 50 minutes went by way too fast! She was warm and friendly and her hands are magic!\r \r \r I had a really bad twitch and that is completely gone now! I have never felt so good. We stayed in the Jacuzzi suit and found the room to be on par with any first rate Hotels. The service was top notch but we took time to make our reservation and studied the inn as all rooms are not created equal. The Boiler room restaurant was reasonably priced and had outstanding food. The building is under constant renovation but the owners are keeping the nostalgia on the inn alive. The owners are care takers of this magnificent piece of history and take pride in the hotel as well as its history. The spa was relaxing and the staff was very professional. I feel sorry for the other couple that had a bad night but from our experience this would be the exception not the rule. If you would like a weekend get away within 50 minutes of St Louis this is something hard to beat. Pros: Historic hotel with reasonable prices Cons: No phones in room if you call that a con. more

We just returned from a night at the Original Springs Hotel and what started out as an ok night, ended up being the morning from hell. The hotel is ok, very old, our room was slanted, and the TV was 100 years old; but we enjoyed the ""antiqueyness"" of the room so it was ok. But our A/C went out during the night and we had the worst night's sleep ever. It had been 103 degrees the day before and it was HOT. We planned on staying the day and even had reservations for another night but decided to check out. The management was unsympathetic to our horribly uncomfortable experience and did not offer any kind of compensation for our troubles. We asked if they would and the manager's response was ""Sorry, can't help ya, it's not our fault...it's the electric company"". We weren't looking for anything monetary, just something to say - ""Hey we care!"". Even a 10% coupon off our next stay would have removed some of the dissonance. We left and informed her we wouldn't be back to which she responded, ""Sorry to hear that."". This hotel does not care about their guests. Heed my warning you'll get better service at the Motel 6 right up the road for less of your hard earned money. Pros: indoor pool and nice restaurant. WIFI Cons: Apathy of staff and management.
