Best

As ALWAYS, Olive Vine delivers the best middle eastern food to this part of Brooklyn. A definite can't miss.

Not bad, my falafel wrap came just fine, the grape leaves had some flavor, but not as much as I had hoped. The baklava didn't have any syrup drizzled on though, which is disappointing. more

Best service and more 5/3/2008

I'm a regular at the Olive Vine and the food is always excellent and the service is great. As far as the negative reviews on here don't believe them. This place has been around for years so obviously they're doing something right!!!! Pros: Great food and service more

I always feel like the food here is fresher than the comparable places. Maybe because its less oily and greasy. Great food though, no delivery problems ever. more

Quick delivery of so-so food 3/8/2008

I ordered five salads and a side salad (im vegetarian). The food came quickly and the pita was still hot and I was impressed by that, it being a wet rainy afternoon. However one of the salads was loaded with scallion and everything tasted a bit bland. Prices are good. I will probably order again and try the spinach pie and lentil soup or falafel. Overall so-so for delivery, but this is Windsor Terrace. more

shoul be called olive swine 10/27/2007

I have been to this park slope dive twice, based on reviews I read here. Sadly, you cannot believe everything you read. The first time I went, 3 weeks ago, I got really ticked off at my server as he was more interested in his cell phone conversation, than he was in attending to me and my girl friend. It took so long to get my order in, and when it finally came, it was disgusting. The lamajin I ordered may have been dipped in some disgusting concoction that I still cant figure out. My girl friends salad mix was horrible. When we didn't eat our food, the server was oblivious to this fact, as he hurried us out to get back to his damn cell phone. I figured this was just a bad bad night, so we, in desperation, went back yesterday. Same server, same food, same result, with a twist. I am typing this in between ""TRIPS"" to the bathroom. So if what the rest of the reviewers like is nasty food, poor service and a pig sty, then more power to you. As for us, I think we'll go back to our frozen microwavables for a while. Pros: you have a choice Cons: you had your choice more

Great inexpensive food and good service, could be nicer outdoor seating 10/11/2007

We really like the food here. The falafel is never dry, the hummus has the right amount of tang and the pita is perfect. We often get food to go or get a falafel sandwich to take to the park. My son loves the stuffed grape leaves. The seating under the tent is nice, but they have seating beyond that which is a little tacky (think lit up sculptures of the not so nice kind and plastic lawn chairs) and that area could be a little cleaner. Also, we took friends there and I was a little embarrassed when we got the menus and they were really dirty. Pros: great with kids, fresh food, heated outdoor tent Cons: could be a little cleaner more

MmMM! Still dreaming about that hummus and fresh pita. 7/29/2007

My boyfriend and I were in the mood for a BYOB place, and after looking at a few places online, we decided to go to Olive Vine Cafe. I've been to other BYOB places and the food has always been not so great. However, the food here was DELICIOUS!! Firstly, the hummus and the fresh out-of-the-oven pita's are amazing!!! I also had the lentil soup and also, so good! He also had some flakey chicken and rice dish and he couldn't stop saying how good it was (and it certainly was). All and all, a great place! Not fancy, no frills, but for good food for cheap prices, this is the spot. We'll definitely be back. Pros: delicious food, great prices, BYOB on top of all that Cons: for what it is, none really. more

Great food and BYOB! 6/30/2007

We sat out on the cute little patio and brought a six-pack of beer. We realized that we had forgotten a bottle opener and as soon as we looked up, our server was popping our tops off for us. The food is amazing!! I had the falafel and my boyfriend had a gyro and the lamb was delicious!!! Go eat here! I can't wait to go back. Pros: food, service, BYOB!! more

Best Lentil soup, hummus and pita bread! 6/17/2007

I love this place. They make fresh pita bread with your orders. They have the best lentil soup I have ever had and really great hummus. Everything is always made with the freshest ingredients. Even the pizzas are great!! The customer service is really great too. I would highly recommend this place. Pros: Fresh delicious food, great customer service more

Great houmous, love Olive Vine pizza! 6/30/2006

Wow, for such an un-assuming place, the treats we had last night were divine!! Reminded me of spreads of turksish and greek snacks we used to get at a lot of great places in London. We had a plate with fresh houmous (best houmous I've had since moving to NYC), babaganoush, tabouleh, black bean, and grape leaves, with fresh warm pita. And we shared the ""olive vine pizza"" which was to-die-for. Deliciously fresh veggies, a touch of mozzerella, fresh herbs and hints of cilantro; and great sauce. I can't wait to go back! And such reasonable prices too. yum more

Healthy, Cheap, and awesome service 3/13/2006

It was my first time there. The food was so yummy; I had the chicken plate and it was so fresh and tasty. It was cheap, comparing it to other middle eastern places. The staff were so friendly and always smiling. I kept asking the cute guy behind the counter to get me stuff, since the waiter was a little busy, and he did with huge smile on his face every time i asked him for something. I am definitely going back there. Before i forget, the back yard is so huge and beautiful. Pros: a great place, a bang for your buck, friendly service more

the best middle eastern food in brooklyn! 10/2/2005

not only is the food hella cheap, it's hella good. to top it off, the service is wonderful. who would've ever thought that one could receive ""service with a smile"" in new york city?? the pita bread is always made fresh (not like some others that taste store-bought). the lentil soup is amazing, and one of my favourites is the pizza, which i always get with fresh tomatoes. a definite must for anyone residing in brooklyn...and for everyone else for that matter... Pros: cheap, great food, service more

Unglamorous but healthy and cheap 12/12/2003

ore than a pizza place. Undertones of the middle-east abound. Most of the non-pizza selections on the menu include pita-bread, humous or falafel in some combination or other. The ground chickpea soup we sampled as a starter tasted somewhat thin. The chicken and falafel platters were nondescript combinations with fresh leaf salad. The falafal was rather over cooked and dried but the chicken was fine. No alcohol license so youll have to take your own wine if you want to drink with your meal, otherwise its the mint tea or water that are offered by the establishment. We elected not to have a desert but were presented with a tasty, small sweet-cornbread-like sample of desert in any case, on the house. The main draw of this place is the price. Its cheap. So for a filling and healthy meal give it a go. Simple healthy unglamorous food cheap. Pros: cheap, healthy Cons: somewhat bland, service a bit slow more
