Old Sturbridge Village (OSV) in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, is an outdoor history museum set in the 1830's. It has several buildings from that time period that were moved to OSV from all over New England, all on over 200 acres. You can see people dressed in the clothes of that time, who will talk to you about their life and what they're doing. For example, one of the times we were there, a man was building a house using only tools and techniques from the 1830's, and he answered all our questions as he worked. You can see pigs (and piglets if you're lucky!), sheep, and oxen. There's a general store, 2 churches, a shoemaker, a blacksmith, a saw mill, houses, and much more. You can take a horse-drawn carriage ride, or a boat ride on the river. It also has a very nice, large gift shop. We love it, and the kids we've taken there have been fascinated by it.
