This is another one of those "I don't get it" places. The Old Salt City Jail is one of the Salt Lake City institutions that everyone feels obligated to eat at at least once. Thankfully, I have fulfilled my obligation. The food is classic american fair--steaks, dry chicken, prime rib, etc. The ambience is dark and unwelcoming (how people interpret this as romantic I will never understand). The food was fair and honestly, for the price, I expected better quality. They have a salad bar with the usual stuff, iceburg lettuce, shredded carrots, etc. Overall, I was not impressed.
