I really like Old Navy's clothes - they're cute but cheap, in line with current trends, and made to last.
The Montgomery store, however, has two problems: it's in an awful location and the service is pretty hit-and-miss.
There are times I've been in the store and received excellent service, with employees even going to the back of the store and retrieving my size from a box of clothes that were not yet opened and put out. Other times, I've sat in long lines for no apparent reason as employees milled around the store but none offered to check customers out, or worse, checked out their friends in line but no other customers.
The service isn't the Montgomery Old Navy's biggest problem, though. Unfortunately, it's in a shopping center near Montgomery Mall, the area's epicenter for crime and general nastiness. As a result, and due to recent robberies at businesses in the same strip mall as ON, I won't go there after dark.
My family usually makes a trip to the Auburn or Alabaster Old Navy stores when we're shopping for clothes, since they're larger with a better selection of clothes and in better areas. It's a shame that there isn't an Old Navy in the safer east Montgomery area. I'd love it if they opened one in the Eastchase/Sturbridge area.
