FRAUD 7/30/2014

The office staff is not the warmest, but the dentist himself did a nice job on my 9 year old. HOWEVER - their billing department is attempting to scam customers and insurance companies. I was told I did not have coverage for the procedure needed when in the office, so I paid over $300 out of my own pocket. Contacted insurance the following day to discover I have FULL COVERAGE for the procedure! Contacted office to share info & was told I was wrong. Mike Paxton in the billing department refused to file a claim with my insurance company while speaking directly to them on the phone while I was also on hold with insurance company. Insurance company returned to me & informed me that they were taking this for review because of these practices. I am awaiting a check of my refund from dental office, but this required about 6 hours of my time making calls and FIGHTING with Mike in their billing department. Don't you think if the insurance company is TELLING the office there is coverage they would believe them? DO NOT go here. They are lacking moral standards! I only gave this office a 1 star because I had to give something. Would have liked to give ZERO! more

Marathon dentistry 6/21/2013

Took over a year for me to schedule due to Dr. being out and no openings and wanting you to schedule an appointment six months out. On time for my appointment 1pm office closed at 2pm. Tech cut my mouth inside rushing to take x-ray films. She was shoving the film in my mouth from the side without concern or to make sure it was going in correctly. She then wanted me to chomp down on this metel piece while the cardboard was slicing my mouth. Tech use the polish in record speed time to insure not to pay attention to any one tooth. Had to get up to spit in towel due to paste so far in my throat. Dr. came in scraped my teeth and then told me I had a cavity and would forward the price list up front. I had to ask which tooth and could I look at x-rays as well for him to explain. Taken up front to schedule procedure to take care of cavity. Told them I would never come back poor service. While I was driving home scratched off some white stuff from under my gums. My teeth were cleaner when I left home this morning. Search through Dental providers. Thank god I found my former dentist that now accepts my insurance. more

Unhappy client 6/3/2013

I went to Naperbrook dental office. I was passed off like a $1 suit. All they kept doing was giving me X rays. That first dentist refused to have my teeth cleaned and just sent me off to the so called "gum Specialist who did the same thing and sent me off to some "referral" dr Huvar that told me to sign up online. I need a root canal and or an extraction. This was Friday May 31 at 12 noon. Im Joining the NAACP and reporting them. The clerk said her computer was down. She was saying she lived in the Columbus park area back in the day. I guess this wasn't the place to seek after my dental health there. They just waisted my time and money That first dentist Came in introduced himself with no handshake. He was not friendly and acted like he was in a hurry to get me out of his chair. He told me what the x rays showed but he was not willing to do the work on my teeth. Then I was given this elaborate dental plan which they took back and told to go to the "gum" specialist". It was humiliating because the workers were looking at me as if I'd done something wrong for coming there more

My child is horrified now 8/10/2012

My 6 year old child had four cavities to fix and although I ticked the box that she is afraid of pain no medication was given, but we were told that the cavity os so small that it wouldn't hurt anyway. Well, my child was still so scared that it took us a long time to even get her on the chair. The doctor, although calm and patient, did very little to make her feel more comfortable. Additionally, it apparently hurt a lot. She was screaming after the first attempt and absolutely horrified. Within the next four hours we managed to get three out of four to be done, but my child was shaking all over. I really appreciate that the doctor never rushed us or got impatient, but again, he also did nothing to comfort her. I will definitely never take my child there again and I don't know how I will ever be able to convince her to go to a dentist again. Of course, I am also angry with myself that I did not leave when my child was in tears, but I just wanted it to be done as I didn't know when she would go again. with every new tooth that had to be fixed the doctor told us that this time it wouldn't hurt, so I also told my child that this time it wouldn't hurt, but it did hurt again and now she accuses me with reason that I lied to her - it almost breaks my heart. This was by far the worst experience at a dentist I ever had. Sorry to say that... more

Wonderful Place 11/18/2011

No one else mentions which doctor they saw. I saw Dr. C. Man is very very good. Knows what he is doing, up to speed on knowledge/techniques. His first concern is your comfort; asks if you're in any pain, if yes stops what he is doing and relieves the pain. During exam he takes time to explain what he is doing all the way through it. When he has his findings he sits with you and explains possible courses of treatments and costs of each and solicits your opinion on how to proceed. Very great work. Been very pleased with work he has performed in the past. more

The lady at the front desk, her name is Barb, was not very nice to us. It seems like she has preferential treatment for some, unfortunately, I wasn't one of those people and that to me is unacceptable. Everyone should be treated equally no matter who you are or where you come from. I will not go back to Naperbrook Dentistry because of BARB. more

I'm Pretty Darn Pleased 1/29/2011

Good: Gosh, are we all talking about the same dentist office? I've been going there since 2008 and have never had experiences like the ones listed. They have always been organized, professional, right on spot with dental services and through. Both my kids (Ages 5 and 7) have had their first visits there. (And by the way, dental services generally do not do kids until they are at least 4 anyway.....I found this out with our old dentist AND this dentist.). Bad: They could improve the signage tremendously. Until you know where it is you are a bit frustrated. Take this hint, when you are at the front door you can look across the parking lot at the bank on the corner. You could spit and hit the bank. Hope that helps.. Other: I'm not had a single bad experience. They are so close to where I work I can take care of dental needs on my lunch break. Never a problem getting an appointment. The assistants (do cleaning and such) are very kind with me and my kids. I'm very happy with the services. (And by the way, I LOVE the receptionist Barb is it???) She is extremely nice!. more

bad experience 1/20/2011

I went to Naperbrook due to in network status with my dental insurance. I have a ppo with defined charges. I was overcharged by 75%. I have had good dentists in the past, this is not one. I have never had a cleaning that was sub par like this one. The office did not seem clean. The administrative staff lost my paperwork twice. Not a good experience. I would not recommend this dentist for my pets! more

get a second opinion!- 12/15/2010

My 7 year old daughter's first visit to this office will be her last. The dentist told me she had five cavitites in her back molars. I looked at him in amazement. She has NEVER had ANY cavities plus she just has sealent placed on her molars 6 months ago at another dentist. The dentisit seemed surpised when I told him that and he looked at his assistant and she shrugged her shoulders. My mother's instinct told me to get a second opinion. I saw another dentist that week who told me he couldn't find one single cavity anywhere!!!! Guess routine check ups and cleanings don't pay for the big house and car. more

This practice does not see children under 4! When I called before switching my primary dentist to this practice I indicated that I had two small children. Then I waited a month to have my insurance add my family to this practice's roster to find out they dont see small children. Terrible customer service. more

HONESTLY I WOULD NOT MAKE MY JUDGEMENT BASED ON SOMEONE ELSES OPINION, WE ALL HAVE DIFFERENT EXPECTATIONS WHEN IT COMES TO PUBLIC SERVICES. PLEASE LET US MAKE OUR OWN JUDGEMENT. MY EXPERIENCE WITH NAPERBROOK HAS BEEN EXELLENT I HAVE BEEN WITH THEM FOR MANY YEARS, I WOULD NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE. BUT AGAIN THAT IS MY OWN OPINION. more

Bad location, Unprofessional 7/23/2010

Good: the receptionist was nice.. Bad: Location- No sign and directions are awful. called 411 (t-mobile) they couldnt find information. Not even their neighbors at MCAI knew where they were located. I arrived at 8am for an 8am appt. Dr. Ujjeh said I shld have been their at 745am. Then asked where my previous x rays were, which noone told me to have this, considering this is my first time. DENTIST REFUSED TO SEE ME. Improvements: Dr. Ujjeh. more

Terrific, patient and caring 6/24/2010

Dr. Garcia saw my 27yr old son whose is mentally handicap. Prior to our visit I was unable to find anyone to see him. I couldn't afford specialists. Dr. Garcia was so loving and patient with him. She explained the treatment to us but focusing on him. Everyone else ignores him because they think he doesn't understand. When we got home he told me he felt like an adult and was excited for his next appointment. more

The doctor takes ages before she comes to see the patient. Be prepared to spend whole day in her clinic as she keeps going to other patients without completing work of one patient. more

I came as a new patient for a cleaning. I waited for 45 mins before being seen without being given a reason for the wait. Once in the chair, the appointment took another 45 minutes (mostly sitting and waiting). They looked at my teeth and did xrays. Dr. C informed me that I needed over $1000 of dental work. I was very anxious about the procedures and he wasn't very helpful in answering my questions. Then he said I would have to make another appointment for the teeth cleaning because they were "behind"! I spent a total of 1 1/2 hours in the office and the only thing done were xrays. The entire atmosphere was unprofessional: 2 different music stations were on at the same time, the office staff were more focused on socializing than helping clients, and the people at the front desk were rude. I should have walked out when I first got there after I witnessed the parent of a child getting rude treatment from the front desk! more

Fraudulent Billing service: do not trust ! 9/30/2009

They showed me a letter from insurance stating it would pay less than expected, so I had to pay more than planned: I did and paid $266 too much. In fact they have been paid rapidly and normally by the insurance, but after 7 weeks and several calls, I still have not been repaid. One little last thing: My insurance says they never send this "letter" to them: Avoid this place, and above everything: do not pay more than what you think will be covered: pay less ! more
