Oishi was delicious. The lightly fried chicken (can't remember the name of it on the menu) was truly outstanding. It wasn't the usually heavy breaded stuff you get from other takeout places. And the beef with noodles ... oh my goodness gracious it was delicious. I'm not well acquainted with all the official names of Asian food, but this beef (tenderloin) came in a broth and the oversized noodles were separate. Combined? Holy wow! more

not bad, enjoyed our meal 11/30/2011

we popped in very late, around 10pm. seated and served quickly just had 4 sushi rolls, ($38, not bad!) crunchy spice tuna was v good other 3 rolls we ordered were good service was ok, no probs if the servers aren't Japanese, expect it to be a little curt unless it's a high end Hong Kong style restaurant just the way it is, deal wit it we plan to go back decor was a nice effort more

RUINED OUR DINNER 11/10/2011

I had a dinner at the restaurant but I'm feeling terrible!! We were a party of five adults and a two year baby(he was sleeping), and we had a hibachi table. An Asian girl named sarah I guess, served us. But we had to wait one hour after we got our drinks. They never informed us how long we should wait.we complained about it, but she didn't even say sorry. When we received the check, we found out 17% tip was added already. Manager said ""over five people, a server can charge a gratutiy on a bill"" When we got out, no one said us even good bye. Their service sucks!!!!! They are terrible. The food is not good either and expensive!! Don't go there!! more

Very disappointing restaurant 7/16/2008

Just have to chime in here: don't be fooled by some obvious shilling by the restaurant owner. I visited recently and the service was downright rude. I could get past this if the food were good, but it isn't. Weird flavor, tough, chewy meat. Not recommended, especially if you're visiting. Definitely agree with the reviewer further down -- much better Japanese to be found elsewhere in Orlando. Pros: They have chairs Cons: Poor service, worse food, unpleasant experience more

Best Traditional Orlando Japanese 6/24/2008

This is by far the BEST for freshness, flavor and selection. The service is professional, extremely polite and efficient. My favorite are the Hibachi meals which include soup, very flavorful noodles, salad and an abundant quantity of deliciously large scallops (or your desired choice). I'm sure anything you order at this traditional Japanese restaurant with a delightful peaceful atmosphere will be prepared and served with the utmost care and quality by the extremely polite and efficient staff. I've tried many similar restaurants in Central Florida and this is definitely my favorite. I can only imagine that a bad review would be the result of very bad manners on the part of the customer. I have been to Oishi several times and each visit was an absolute delight. Pros: Fresh and deliciously prepared food served in a lovely atmosphere. Cons: Patrons who do not respect the lovely peaceful ambience with their unruly children. more

Avoid at all costs... The worst ever! 5/30/2008

My family and I had the misfortune of dining at Oishi's this evening. The waiter Penn or Guide, I don't know but those are the names on my receipt, failed to bring my 2 year old her drink but became offended when I questioned him when our bill came because he charged us for it. After that we noticed that a 15% gratuity was added... he stated that this was since our party had 5 people... my daughter did not even get the only thing she ordered... a Sprite. She did not order any food or eat. Penn/Guide became very hostile when we questioned the 15% and stated that it was on the menu and entrance door. My wife went and got a menu and looked on the door and there was no sign or note stating that they add 15% to your check for parties of 5+. Penn/Guide was very agitated and gave us dirty looks and with a short temper and attitude shook his head left to right and unwillingly took off the 15%. My wife simply stated that you can not add to someones tab without their knowledge. After receiving our revised check Penn/Guide stood over my wife and waited and watched as she signed the ticket and tip amount... staring me down the whole time. She left $8.00... after his attitude of storming around the restaurant causing a scene and giving us dirty looks and shaking his head at us I would have left nothing. The waiter took it way too far... this is a shame that his behavior/temper had gotten out of hand in front a several children throughout the restaurant. We then had to explain to our children about people who try to take advantage of others who are on vacation. It really gives people of other countries a bad reputation when they think that they speak in their native language in front of you while talking bad about you. The people at this restaurant should be more careful what they say as it is not uncommon these days for Americans to be multi-lingual. My wife was very offended by their comments. It is too bad for the customer service as the food was not bad. Pros: Ice was cold Cons: Waiter, service, price, everything more

Skip this restaurant 5/27/2008

A fairly disappointing experience. Had dinner companions from out of town and wanted to try something different and unique. Oishi did not deliver. Pros: Close to theme parks Cons: Bad food, difficult service, bad value more

Cute decor, friendly staff, tasteful sushi. 5/6/2008

I'm here for a short vacation and decided to try this place out. Walking in, the decor was unique. The restaurant was well lit. The sushi chef & wait staff were friendly and always had a smile on. The sushi tasted fresh and was presented well. There was a good variety of rolls to chose from. I would certainly recommend this place to others. The food & sushi were fairly well priced. Pros: Friendly staff, fresh sushi, reasonably priced. Cons: None come to mind. more

Best meal in Orlando 2/7/2008

My husband I went here one evening, and it was by far the best meal we had during our stay in Orlando, both for quality and price. The decor was absolutely beautiful, as was the plate presentation. I would highly recommend the Love Boat sushi platter for two. We've eaten at several sushi places throughout the country, but this one takes the cake! Pros: sushi, atmosphere, value Cons: ?????? more

Best hibachi and best sushi rolls!!!! 1/26/2008

This is my first review EVER! I had to write cuz I has really impressed! I've woked high end restaurants for over 20 years so I consider myself very picky when it comes to service, presentation and fresh food. This is the best hibachi style restaurant I've been too, better than Bennihana's, Kobe's etc. I had the best maki rolls ever! Try the ""zex on the moon"" rolls, a house favourite. more
