If you're between jobs or looking for work, there are much better places to go than OfficeSlaves a/k/a Robert Halfbaked. These self-important, chirpy ice queens will shine you on, take your laboriously gathered information and do nothing with it (except perhaps to call your references to try to convince them to fire their employees and hire their temps).
Week after week will go by with no job on the horizon. Late one Friday afternoon, a staffing manager will call and send you on to a job totally unsuited to your qualifications (as if that?s important to them) ? a job they only have because the company's hiring manager is a former OfficeTeamer and is ""in good"" with the staffing manager there, wink wink nudge nudge). Then, two hours after the end of your first workday, they may well call you up and tell you not to come in again ? without giving a reason ? but the real reason is they overbooked, sending too many live bodies to the job, and threw the dice and decided to toss you overboard. Oh, well; it?s starvation wages, anyway.
On top of this, the staffing managers and (cough, cough) recruiters will lie to your face about everything and refuse to answer the simplest questions, claiming confidentiality issues (after all, who are you to be trusted?). They and the entire staff, sticks firmly up their rear ends, will treat you like a pitiable peon trying to intrude on them when you call in to ask about a job. If you like being made to feel like crap and wasting your time, OfficeTeam is for you. If I were you, however, I?d call up companies you want to work for and contact someone there directly. Why should these lying parasites make money off your labor? What did they ever do for you, except exploit and lie to you?
Pros: Give me a week and I might think of something
Cons: Do-nothing ""recruiters,"" overbooking, ineptitude, etc.
