We chose Oakdale Rental Center because it was near our storage unit & we needed a Budget truck because we did our research and found it to be the most reasonably priced, which was SUPER. Being we do not rent a truck every day we obviously had questions. Everything went ok until we got to the insurance policy- no wonder it seemed more reasonably priced--we were not included the insurance price in the quote, which was to our surprise (we ignorantly thought that was included in the quoted price - anyway we accepted that immediately- it is what it is, right?). However, because we were surprised we had questions about the ins & outs of the insurance. Obviously. The woman working REFUSED to explain ONE simple question: Was the insurance optional or a requirement of law. She halfly explained the insurance but refused to answer if we NEEDED it. Then she blew up at us - started to get LOUD! She yelled at us! Said that she is not going to explain this again because she explained it 3 times already (which was irrelevant because she was not answering the question & she did not know how to explain insurance...hence our questions...and all bcause of her own frustration with her own lack of understanding/listening skills.) Now we were getting upset. She threatened to call the cops if we did not leave simply because we began reflecting her loudness back at her. We absolutely needed the truck that we had reserved because we had to move 1,000 miles within a couple of days. Someone else finnnalllly came in to explain it in a matter of a few words. He said this: Yes it is the law. That's all we needed to know. DONE!. However - in the beginning she said it was optional. I feel misled, blamed, abused as a customer, and maybe even taked advantage of (was it the law?) I don't know or care - I was HAPPY to get the heck out of there!! As a customer you should never EVER be treated like this. But that is coming from someone in the hospitality industry, which this is clearly not. None the less - someone should have stepped in sooner. At the very least this woman needs to be EXCUSED from her duties. She was the rudest, crudest piece of work ever put on this earth still holding a job! I wish her the best, she has a difficult path ahead of her if this is how she continues...I feel sorry for her. Oh - the budget truck is GREAT by the way. :) Over an hour later - we were done in what could have taken 15 minutes. Recommend BUDGET!! But stay away from ORC!!!!
Wish I could say 1/4 of a star for this business she is ruining them.
