everybody knows your name 8/19/2005

This is a great hangout. When my schedule allows, I like to go here for lunch. The bartenders and wait staff are cool. They great me by name (I hope that's not an indication of how frequently I go, but more of a testament to the friendly staff) and always serve up a great drink or meal. The burgers there are awesome. more

good irish eats 8/17/2005

This is one of my favorite places to grab a burger. It's a bar, but they have really good food. I usually go there for lunch if I'm in the area, but we have also gone there for dinner. The lunch and dinner menues are pretty much the same. They have burgers, fish & chips, chicken pie, Sheperd's pie, traditional Irish fare, etc. The apple pie a la mode for dessert is excellent. This is also one of the few places that can make a Black & Tan correctly. more

good eats 8/9/2005

My husband really loves this place. The burger there is really good and he washes it down with a black and tan.. or 2. I also like the food there-- great chicken pie, fish & chips, potato soup and I had a really good grilled chicken burger the last time I was there. Even the kids like the food. The wait staff there is really nice and the owner is a friendly and familiar face. I guess we go there a lot because they know our names and remember my husband's "usual" fare. The only negative is the place is a little dark and the tables feel sticky... even after being cleaned. I know it's a bar but it still skeeves me out a litlle-- not enough to stop going, though. It's like our own Irish version of Cheers... except there's no annoying Cliff Claven. P.S. Gotta try the Apple pie. yum! more

Great Irish Fare 8/5/2005

Great bar food; I've never had a bad thing on the menu. They often have live music, mostly Irish bands when I've been there. They try to have Irish waitstaff which is cool too. The Kerry chicken is really good, as is the potato soup. My brother in law likes to go there for lunch and eat a burger. The only thing that's bad is the parking; there really isn't any. If you can luck out and find metered parking great, otherwise you have to park at a city lot and walk over. Or if you're that lazy, you can hop on a trolley. more
