Great night 5/17/2010

Went here Sat night with some girlfriends and we scored a little couch spot near the bar until our table was ready at 11:30 (definitely reserve a table!) Drinks are expensive but that's what you have to expect in that neighborhood and at a bar with this type of scene. We lucked out and got a table by the doors that go to the patio so we had a great breeze and we weren't cramped by other tables although I could see that other tables were really smooshed together. We had no problem with service and in fact I'm pretty sure they only charged us for 1 bottle of champagne when we ordered 2 (score!) Food was basic bar food and appetizers but that's what we wanted so overall we had a great night and the music could not have been better. We didn't stay there all night so when we left I did see a line to get in so its probably best to get there around 11 to avoid a line. Pros: great music, good scene Cons: cramped w/out a table more

avoid this place~! 11/6/2009

I took my daughter to this rip off on her 21 st. birthday. The service was terrible and there was nobody in the place! At least five waiters and no followup service. It is overpriced and the food is pub grub at an exorbitant price. To be blunt the ""food sucked"". The bill for four with three drinks at $15.00 a piece was outrageous. As a long time New Yorker, I wish I could have spent my cash in a restaurant where I walked away satisfied. It was an expensive birthday party without any quality! Forget it! Cons: many more

Awful Place for Large Group 10/28/2009

Had a bday party here. Called in advance to see if there was a cover. They said no, and no bottle service was required. Got there with a group of 6-8, denied at door. Said we had to buy bottle service to get only 4 people in. Tried to seperate and go in seperately, but the front door folks would not have it. Bought bottle, got in. Later than night, when the rest of my party arrived, they were denied entry w/o tipping the door (aka, head of security) money. Ridiculous! Don't go with a big party, once they see that you have more than 3 to your party they will discriminate and suck the money out of you. Not worth it at all. From the looks of the other reviews, management sucks and it seems like they condone this kind of practice. Just beware when you go. Pros: Decent music Cons: Front Door / Management more

Delicious 7/1/2009

As much as I love the west village, the meatpacking district has always been a neighborhood I've avoided. My best friend and I decided to eat at ONE before going to galleries in Chelsea and had a wonderful time. The bread was so delicatable and almost melted in our mouths. The waiter advised us to order a couple of entrees and share, so we ordered the sliders and pizza. I expected the entrees to be small but I was stuffed. We also ordered the chocolate cake, and that was incredible too. The wait staff was extremely attentive and friendly.\r I highly recommend this restaurant, even though the area is filled with B & T. We went on a Thursday night at around 7 and we had the place to ourselves. Pros: amazing food, incredible service more

Decent place in Meatpacking District. 1/24/2009

I went here for a party and had a decent time. I liked the lounge atmosphere in the middle of the room. While quarters are a little tight, having a seating area was helpful. The music was decent but the cramped quarters leave little room for dancing other than bobbing your head to the beats. As for the drinking/eating, I can't comment on the food since I didn't try any. Getting the drinks took a little time to get bartenders attention but service on a busy night was good. The only negative was the coat check. Most coat checks in concert venues/bars take a little time to serve the customers, but I find it hard to believe that it would take a half hour with a line of 15-20 people.\r Pros: Lounge, Music, Cons: Selection of Beers, Wine Price, Slow Coat Check more

Decent Night Out 11/24/2008

I have never had the food here, but I came for a friends birthday and it was a pretty good time. Fun music to dance to and lots of space to move around in. more

fun! 11/11/2008

I came to ONE for a friend?s birthday and had a great time. The food was tasteful and the staff was kind. Once it turns into a club at night anyone is bound to have a wonderful time. The music is nonstop and the drinks are delicious and reasonably priced. I hope to return here soon, and I highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for somewhere to go for a good night out. more

Awesome Seafood Platter 11/10/2008

So I was at One on Friday night with a couple of girls i work with in the neighborhood. We decied to just sit at the bar and order the seafood platter to share. It was amazing and huge for the price. We had a variety of oysters, shrimp, lobster and clams and was perfect after work with some cocktails. My two friends had a nice pino noir and I had the pear martini! it was quiet when we arrived at 5:30pm and then had a really nice scene when we left around 8:00pm. Music was nice and our bartender JJ was great! love it!! Pros: Great Seafood and cocktails Cons: None more

I would rather get a root canal than go here again 9/24/2008

This place is pathetic! I went on a Wednesday night with a few friends and the place was completely empty. They were more than willing to serve us over $200 worth of drinks when all of a sudden there were more than 15 people in front of the bar at which point the ""manager"" (or his 2nd or 3rd cousin I'm guessing) decided we weren't worth servicing any longer and proceded to kick us out of the bar with security in tow. I don't EVER plan on going back and would not recommend this place to anyone more

YAY 9/23/2008

I have no idea what people are sayin about this place. The music is hot and the people who be goin are sizzlin. I cant say about the food cause i never ate there but the drinks are good and the party is nonstop! The DJ CAN SPIN and thats all you be needing in there Cons: DJ more

awful 9/23/2008

After reading the other posts I have to agree with the one that say it is horrible! The wait staff are a bunch of mean anorexic girls that could use some meds and the food is not worth the money. I brought a group of clients with me last week and we waited forever for a drink-which by the way was watered down. As for their manager, well he never showed when we asked to speak to him because our service was hideous. The waitress told us he was busy and by the time we were fed up we found out the manager was too busy entertaining some clients of his own-which a co-worker brutally told us. more

This place is no good. Food wasn't great neither was the service. Plus the music was way too loud and you cannot hear anyone Cons: all more

Celeb sighting and fun fun fun! 7/22/2008

I saw Mario Lopez at ONE! Friday night I was having some after work drinks that turned into dinner at One. We sat outside and mario lopez ended up walking right by us w a group of people and sat down and ate dinner. He seend to be having a great time and so were we. We had an amazing special of sweet corn soup, burgers and steak that came w mac n cheese. Our Isaiah was awesome, he took great care of us and his recomendation were perfect. We ended the night by trying to talk to mario but then just watched him from a far. it was a fun night. more

Awful Service for $15 drinks- stay FAR away 7/11/2008

If you feel like being treated like a piece of garbage and paying $15 for a drink served by a nasty bartender then this is your place. I went her last night with 18 people and after we finished the last bite of our $2000 dinner, the staff quickly cleared our plates and took our fresh and full drinks and picked up our table and made us move. I have never been treated so poorly in my life! When I asked to speak to a manager I was told 'he was coming' by the extremely RUDE staff. I would not spend a dollar here on a sucky bar that serves Euro trash and 21 year olds in hot pink spande dresses (I did not know spandex dresses were back in style). Stay far away from this horrible place! There are way too many places in New York City where you wont be treated like a piece of garbage, with better food, better drinks and a better atmosphere! Pros: DJ was the only thing good Cons: Everything else! The Staff is the WORST I have ever seen more

Upscale lounge with great service and food 7/10/2008

I have been to ONE for several birthday's and greatly enjoyed my experience each time. Everything from the music that the DJ played to the food that was ordered were spectacular. I definitely recommend the mushroom ravioli as well as the burgers. As the night progressed ONE became more crowded, but the waitstaff remained attentive and very kind. I plan on returning shortly. Pros: Ambience, Staff, Food more

WORST Customer Treatment 6/28/2008

I went to the women's restroom with my friend and she spritzed herself with the perfume in the bathroom and as we were leaving the restroom the RUDE bathroom attendant yelled at us and said that it cost money to spritz ourselves with the perfume. When we asked her how much it was, she said, ""Anything you want to give."" When we put money in the basket, she screamed at us that it wasn't enough and screamed, ""It's a $2 minimum. Take your money back! Next time make sure you have $2 with you!!!"" I didn't come to the restaurant to get yelled at. The city has thousands of restaurants, so I'm happy to take my business somewhere else where I'll be treated with basic respect. NEVER go to this restaurant. It was an AWFUL experience!!!!! It takes a lot to make me come online to write a review, but this experience was so awful that I wanted to warn everybody about the restaurant. more

  • Formerly occupied by the restaurant ONE, this Meatpacking District space has been transformed from a typical club into a junkyard chic restaurant and bar. The owners enlisted help from the designers at ICRAVE, who scoured eBay, Etsy and Craigslist to create an eclectic room decorated entirely with recycled pieces of art; for example, a flock of seagulls made out of license plates hangs over the main bar area and is meant to symbolize that birds have no boundaries. The menu is just as colorful, with highlights that include truffled deviled eggs, blue cheese tater tots, chicken ‘n’ waffles with maple gravy, veal and ricotta meatballs and Hong Kong ribs.
