We come here every time we visit family in Atlanta. The southern veggies are amazing! The portions are generous and everything tastes homemade. On the menu A-OK shows you they...

First of all, I would like to say that I am a southerner and, overall, it was a descent experience and my son enjoyed himself. Now to my review: My child chose this place for...

The Confederate O.K.Cafe 5/24/2010

Good: The Exit sign, that showed me how to GET OUT of there.. Bad: I got up and saw that confederate flag and almost threw up. Improvements: I would take that FLAG down since, Skin heads, theKKK german criminals and all others use it as a sign of HATE and I would have to assume the O.K. confederate cafe as well. Other: I read the statement, But you must know what that flag stands for When it was implemented and most of all WHY ! ! ! ! ! !. So, what well meaning place Would keep it.. more

OK Cafe 7/29/2006

OK Cafe is located at 1284 W Paces Ferry Rd NW in Atlanta, Georgia. It is a great place to visit. It's a Southern Cafe, which is extremely unique. I love the milkshakes! They are homemade and not artificial! They are divine. Since this is a buffet restaurant, they can serve more at lower prices. In fact, the price was just right. You can also get the buffet to go, which is a great plus. It seems to be a very popular restaurant. I recommend this place at four stars. more

Good southern food and atmosphere 4/10/2006

The OK Cafe features pretty good southern style food. There is a to go area that is a buffet style where you fill up your take away plate and it is priced by weight. The other part is a regular sit down restaurant. The food is good, service is great and the atmosphere is really nice. Definitely try the milk shakes and sweet potato chips with blue cheese dip. more

good food 8/12/2005

Great food, fun atmosphere, and quirky decor. The waitresses are as charming as their retro outfits and I've yet to encounter one in an ill mood. The menu ranges from classic diner fare to soul food to more new age selections, but all items are prepared to order. Comfort food is king while salads and specials can be hit and miss. A veggie plate here is not so much a compromise as it is a mouth-watering alternative. Prices, while not cheap, are reasonable for the quality and quantity. There's a complete soda fountain so milkshakes, floats, malts, and even flavored Cokes may be had. Be prepared to wait at peak times (weekend mornings, most evenings). They're no longer open 24 hours, so you'll have to sneak in before midnight on the weekends to get your fix. more

Owner Message

  • The OK Cafe opened its doors in 1987 and so great was the longing for a true Southern restaurant that by the end of the first week it had become an Atlanta phenomenon with crowds standing in line to get in. Today it serves more customers than any other full service restaurant in Georgia.

People come to the OK Cafe for the quality of the food and the sort of menu your grandmother would make for Sunday dinner, if you had a grandma who could cook that is. Mix in an uncle who was a short order cook at the best grill in town, and you've got the family recipes that make the OK Cafe so popular. Add to the family tree an aunt with a sense of fun who created an art-filled environment, and it's easy to see how this ongoing party, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, became the home-away-from-home for so many.
