Avoid Nw Walk In "Health" Clinic 3/7/2011

You should probably just avoid this place if you can. I paid $115 dollars for them to tell me I have a cold. They said that it would run its course whether they prescribed me antibiotics or not so they were not going to prescribe me antibiotics. I left feeling pretty terrible about the whole visit so I marched back in and tried to reason with them. I waited longer than I was seen, nothing they told me or did for me was useful and I wanted to have my payment reduced at the very least. But, instead, they wrote me the prescription for antibiotics that they previously had said I didn't need -- just to get me to go away. Awful, awful service. more

Good and Bad 10/12/2010

The NW Walk In Clinic was a nice experience in that the check in area is separate and private, the waiting area is very spacious, pretty, and even has tables to fill out your paperwork. The staff was nice and polite, but the doc was not so great. His bedside manner was uncaring and unconcerned. I was billed $140 to be told I had a virus...vs maybe a sinus infection or ear infection. He never looked in my ears or nose. He did look at my throat and the medical assistant did run a strep test, so perhaps that ruled out any infections...I don't know. But I left feeling that he had not done a complete exam, and just didn't care. I was very sick, had taken off of work, and had been exposed directly to an illness. I felt it had gone on long enough that I needed some treatment. He didn't offer any ideas or suggestions...not over the counter or otherwise. When I tried to question him....he was practically running out of the room, and did not seem to want to be bothered...like questions were not allowed. I made a comment to the check out gal that I didn't feel I got the proper care, and that he wouldn't listen to me...she did not even comment. No apology, nor help. It did turn out it was viral and went away on it's own. So, that was good, but no thanks to his incomplete care. Nor do I like that attitude of indifference. He's in the wrong field...maybe urgent care is not his thing! I don't recall his name...he was an older man...and looked tired or out of it himself. Perhaps that explained some of his behavior...but I suspect he is like that anyway. Let's hope they have other docs on staff. I am thinking I won't go back. I would wait it out and go to my PCP the next day. Thanks for listening. more

Awful service 10/29/2009

The first time I went in to the clinic I had just overcome a bad fever and retained a violent cough for weeks. I was treated like a child trying to score codine cough syrup, though I said I though my condition was more serious. After writing me a prescription, I was sent home, only to be hospitalized three days later with full blown pneumonia in both lungs after passing out in class and being rushed to the ER. The second time I returned to the clinic, I had a wait time of four hours just to get a shot. I would never go back if there were anywhere else in Bellingham I could go, and have begun to drive to the 2 hours to Bellevue instead when I can afford the time. Pros: Is the only place in Bellingham Cons: Complete lack of organization long waits, diagnostic failure more

The check-in area was away from the waiting room, this gave me privacy. I only waited about 15 minutes. The nursing staff was friendly and courteous. The P. A., Amanda Markell listened intently and provided me the care I was looking for. I would definitely use their services again. Pros: Courteous, Professional, Prompt more

Wrost Place in Town to Seek Medical Treatment 9/29/2008

I have been having cluster headaches for years now. I found a medicine recently that reduced them significantly. It is an anti-inflammatory. The medicine isn't addictive and it doesn't make you high. All it does is release the pressure buildup in my head. Dr. Sanders won't prescribe me any of the medicine. He won't tell me why. But he won't. Definitely not the place to go if you are having problems. Pros: Is available Cons: Doesn't do correct job. more
