Wow! Words cannot describe the people that are running this place. I canceled my wedding 2 weeks prior to the wedding, which i was able to do, according to the wedding coordinator. I knew i would loose money and was willing to do so (deposit and room rental). However, these people charged me for food that was never ordered. They didn't even know how many guest to feed, but they sure charged me the maxium amount of guests i was allowed. they charged for alcohol we never drank, flowers we never saw,, etc. etc.. And, when confronted with this, just not being right, i was told "it is what it is" How's that for good ole southern hospitality? I have sent a letter. Never responded. Same as my phone calls. more

Nottoway is a Greek revival mansion that was completed in 1859. It is located in White Castle, Louisiana and overlooks the Mississippi River. It offers a 250 seat restaurant that offers Cajun and Creole cuisine. The lunch hours are 11:00a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and the dinner hours are 6:00 p.m. to 8:30p.m. The food is absolutely wonderful and cooked to perfection. Be sure to have the bread pudding with the rum sauce, it is divine. The mansion is also a bed and breakfast and overnight quest receive a complimentary tour of the home as well as refreshments. It offers a full plantation breakfast as well. Reservations are strongly urged as they have a limited number of guest rooms. Nottoway is also the site of many weddings, Mr. and Mrs. Randolph, the original owners, designed the white ballroom with the idea of their daughters getting married there. Today many couples chose the plantation as the site of their wedding. The home is open for tours 7 days a week from 9:00a.m. to 5:00p.m., closing on Christmas Day. I would highly advise any visitors to the area to list Nottoway as one of their tour sites, it is truly not to be forgotten. more
