we found this cruise line has no customer care 11/10/2006

Norwegian Star had engine trouble 6 weeks before we sailed on the Mexican Riviera trip for what was tobe a outstanding Christmas 2005 and New Year. Sadly NCL failed to tell us until check in at docks, that the itinerary had been changed, and Acupalco (which was our main reason for going) was deleted. NCL would not enter into talks of why not informed and tried to buy us off with putting -$50 on our bar bill (this was not taken up). Have written to NCL on a few occassions, even one to the CEO Colin Veitch. and they have just ignored all correspondence, So beware if you sail with NCL just hope nothing goes wrong because we do not think there is anyone at NCL that will care. regards and happy sailing Keith & Sarah more

Okay 9/4/2006

The Norwegian Spirit Cruise was decent. Because of the time that I took the cruise (this past week), the price was about $1600 for 4 people. Also the hurricane season was during this time, so the weather was not particularly nice the first and last day. It kept us from arriving at the private island on our way to the Bahamas, so most of the time we spent sailing and not docked at a port. It is because of this I would only give it 3 stars. There was a large variety of food aboard. There were a number of restaurants included in the package and there were 3 specialty restaurants in which you had to pay a cover charge of $20 in addition to the cost of the meal. The buffet would suffice for the hungriest person's needs. The cafes were also open later than the buffet and offered a good choice of foods. Service was not stellar because there were many people at the cafe and the staff was overworked. The activities were varied. It would have been better if there were more shows going on and the inclement weather affected the amount of shows on one day. The gym was a bit on the small side, but due to the lack of people exercising, there was no wait for a machine. The internet cafe was empty half the time and the game room bustled as did the outdoor pool (especially on the beautiful days). It would have been nice if the captain had warned the passengers on the last night that we would be having 15ft+ waves and that people should prepare themselves for sickness. Overall, it was an alright cruise. more

Check your cruise boat rating first... 8/30/2006

I recently took a cruise on the Pride of Aloha, of Norwegian Cruise Lines, for a Hawaiian island hopping trip. Hawaii was great, but I couldn't get excited about the Pride of Aloha's food on board! As we all know, food is a big part of a cruise! A lot of it tasted rubbery and bland. The boat was really nice, the accomodations comfortable and the activities fun, but next time I'll check around to see where the really good food is! more

Claim to fame: Freestyle Dining 12/27/2005

Norwegian Cruise Line has recently started sailing out of New York. Norwegian has a number of beautiful and new ships, the Spirit leaving New York on a semi regular basis now. Their claim to fame is freestyle dining. Freestyle is a really wonderful way to cruise that makes it seem like a restaurant environment, and appeals to a broad range of ages. The dining times are open for a number of hours at each meal, and it is up to you to decide on a daily basis when you want to eat. Norwegian offers good entertainment and good value. more

Cruise 9/18/2005

We recently sailed on this cruise line from New York to the Bahamas. It was wonderful, the free-style cruisng was right up our alley. It was fun for everyone. There were so many activities for the children, you hardly knew they were on board more
