The Norwegian Spirit Cruise was decent. Because of the time that I took the cruise (this past week), the price was about $1600 for 4 people. Also the hurricane season was during this time, so the weather was not particularly nice the first and last day. It kept us from arriving at the private island on our way to the Bahamas, so most of the time we spent sailing and not docked at a port. It is because of this I would only give it 3 stars.
There was a large variety of food aboard. There were a number of restaurants included in the package and there were 3 specialty restaurants in which you had to pay a cover charge of $20 in addition to the cost of the meal. The buffet would suffice for the hungriest person's needs. The cafes were also open later than the buffet and offered a good choice of foods. Service was not stellar because there were many people at the cafe and the staff was overworked.
The activities were varied. It would have been better if there were more shows going on and the inclement weather affected the amount of shows on one day. The gym was a bit on the small side, but due to the lack of people exercising, there was no wait for a machine. The internet cafe was empty half the time and the game room bustled as did the outdoor pool (especially on the beautiful days).
It would have been nice if the captain had warned the passengers on the last night that we would be having 15ft+ waves and that people should prepare themselves for sickness. Overall, it was an alright cruise.
