Worst

Clean and friendly but high priced. My dog dislocated his hip. They charged an awful lot considering they only Xrayed and referred me to a surgeon. The surgeon's fee was $2500! I ...

I have been going to this veterinary hospital since 1987 (maybe it was early 1988)! I have been there with Zinfandel ? a yellow female lab who lived to be almost 16, Zeta ? a black female lab who lived to be almost 15, Zoe ? a chocolate female lab who lived to be almost 14. I now patronize them with Zuleka, an eight-year-old yellow female lab, Zacary, a seven-year-old black male lab, and Zenya, a four-year-old chocolate female lab. The Best Animal Hospital!!! 5/17/2011

I love the Northwood Animal Hospital! As a pre-veterinary student graduating from UCI in June, I am very grateful to have worked at Northwood. Their compassion and expertise have inspired me to pursue veterinary medicine with a selfless heart. \r \r During my first week at Northwood, I was really shocked when a client brought in her dog with a potential tick bite, and when Dr. Pursley saw it, she immediately knew that it was just a minor scratch, and told the client not worry about paying anything for the visit. Northwood is not out to get your money. The doctors believe that well-being of the animal is the most important. Every week, Dr. Roberts takes many hours out of her schedule to spay and neuter bunnies for various shelters and rescue organizations at heavily discounted prices. She even travels to Mexico to care for stray dogs on a completely volunteer basis. She genuinely wants to help animals, regardless of whether or not she is getting paid. I've been going to Northwood for about 3 years now and have always received impeccable service.The staff are extremely helpful and will take the time to answer any and all questions that I have. You can just tell that the techs and vets truly care about animals and make a point to keep me in the loop so that I'm not confused about any procedure, possible side effects (of medication or treatment) or anything on the bill. \r \r I find the costs extremely reasonable. It's actually quiet amazing that I get quality veterinary services for these prices. My pets are my furry children and would not fathom going to anyone else to care for them when they're sick. Therefore, I really don't mind paying those extra few bucks for post operational pain management and monitoring since I know that my babies will feel better after major surgery and will heal faster. (This is in direct contrast to quick, cheap slice & sew spay clinics...shudders!)\r \r I would definitely recommend this animal hospital to any more

Excellent but expensive 7/27/2009

I have brought my Shih Tzu to them since 1999. They have always been very good with terrific followup. However, they are expensive and now that I have two dogs, I am going elsewhere. For example, they wanted over $600 to spay my new puppy; I can get that at Affordable Spay & Neuter in Laguna for $100. more

This is the most professional, caring, wonderful hospital to bring any kind of pet. The staff is polite and courteous. The doctors have unparalleled diagnostic and surgery skills. I would not hesitate to recommend this office to anyone who has a pet with a medical issue, or for annual care. more

Would NOT recommend 3/6/2009

The staff was uncaring and out right rude when I had to have my cat put to sleep. She was 17 years old and I had been a regular client since she was a kitten. After waiting over an hour for the scheduled appointment and my cat started to die on her own; I left and went to a wonderful emergency clinic that treated us with real compassionate care. After that, Northwood actually had the nerve to send me a bill for the euthanasia they didn't even perform. This place is horrible and the back office is filthy. I wouldn't go there if it was the only vet in Orange County! more

Animal Hospital !!! 9/3/2005

Northwood Animal Hospital is the best place where all my pets needs were fullfilled, The doctors are well qualified and provide personalized services. Their charges are also reasonable and as per service provided. Their support staff is also good and they take care of pets personnally. They have good parking space available for customers. This hospital have all kind of facilities available which is required for the treatment of the pets. I always prefer them for all my pet needs. more

this place is another wonderful place. Expensive, but worht it. They do specialize in cats and dogs, but do save other animals. very kind people here and treat the animals with respect. There basic checkup starts from 60.00 and up depending on if it is a cat or dog or any other animals. There is also a place here where you can leave the animals, perhaps if you are going out of town. There boarding area is very clean and comfy for the animals. more
