I read one of recent reviews for Northwester Memorial Hospital and felt it was one sided, and really focused on single surgeon, who probably moonlights in Evanston and Skokie Hospital as well. Linking him to entire hospital would not do good service to readers. I have totally opposite experience with this hospital as institution. My father was dying of cancer and spent last month in this hospital. My sister, mother and myself spent much time there as well. Personnel was always rude and distanced. Technician who worked with my father told us number of times that at some point they will need to ""unplug him"", i.e. basically ""drop the ball"". He was openly cynical and told us all those things smiling, with my dad still alive. He told me number of times to just ""forget it"" and that people quickly ""drop out"" in cases like ours. It was insane! Doctors would ingore questions or make annoyed faces when we would politely ask a question.
