The Virginia Zoological Park in Norfolk, VA is a smaller zoo than I am used to. The pens are large and give the animals more room which is good though. The best part is the Africa area. The way it is designed you can see every animal and not feel like your in a zoo. There are vast open areas where the giraffes and ostriches are together along with some pronghorn, the elephants are in a separate area too. There is a really neat Lion area with large red rocks and open grasslands. The rest of the zoo is spread out and there arn't a lot of other animals but it is less expensive than most zoos. If your kids like the animals from Africa it is worth the money!
