Sky Cabin is in the upper canyon of Ruidoso, NM. It is a one bedroom, bath and 1/2. The bedroom is upstairs. It has two decks, one a wrap-around on the bottom floor, the other out from the upstairs bedroom. Nice hot tub. It has a small shower. Space heaters and fans only, no ac, so don't book if you can't live without it. I have found it not to be a problem most of the time, my husband and I have been there in October, June, May, and we are going in a couple of weeks, so I will update. Nice kitchen with a microwave, normal fridge, coffee maker, utensils, dishes, etc. Very quiet, nice TV downstairs, most of the time no cell reception and internet is spotty. BUT, if you want to be out of the way, and love the deer and the occasional bear, this is a great place. The hummingbirds are plentiful in warm weather. \r Glenda is always very nice and remembers us. I love it here, and choose it when I want quiet times. There are neighbors that have grandkids and dogs but usually it isn't an issue. \r Noisy Waters has other cabins, some with ac. more

My husband and I stayed in Sky Cabin for a three day weekend. This is a lovely two story cabin. While there are other cabins around, we had total privacy. There are decks on two stories, with great views across the canyon.\r \r The decorator could not decide if this was a cowboy cabin, (rope baseboards, cowboy print sofa), ski lodge ( crossed antique ski poles over the door) or a country cabin ( chintz and calico) but the whole thing works. An inside gas fireplace was not needed in June, but looked like it would be cozy. There is also an outdoor fireplace and a gas grill.\r The outdoor hot tub for two is screened off for total privacy. The key opens the back door, off the kitchen. We thought a card table upstairs might be a good addition.\r \r There are lots of stairs, and we noted a lack of handrails. Bring backpacks and reusable grocery bags to carry your clothes and supplies. Binoculars would also be great, we saw a bear, many deer and an elk. more

We decided to stay at Noisy Water Lodge (Canyon Retreat) after looking around for a nice cabin online for quite a while. When I called in to make the reservation, the man was very nice and answered all the questions I had. Upon arriving, both Mr. and Mrs. Duncan were very nice to us and made us feel very welcome. We really didn't have to contact them much during the week, as we didn't have any problems with the cabin. It was clean and very comfortable. We felt as if we were in our very own home away from home. I would like to mention that this is a two story cabin, with a beautiful stairway, but it can be a bit tiring, hahaha, although my 65 year old mother did just fine....other than that, this place was wonderful! If what you are looking for is a place out in the pines with wildlife and beautiful scenery, this is the place!!!! This place even had games and movies and well, we just didn't want to leave. Thanks Noisy Water....once again....I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! more

I was so taken by the charm of this little cabin, that I was imediatley compelled to write a review! I stayed with my family( 2 boys, hubby, and 1 small Italian greyhound) at this cozy cabin, which seems to be privately owned and only managed by noisy water lodge. I'll be honest and first of all mention of my reluctance to stay at this property. I had read a few reviews and wasn't sure I wanted to have a poor experience, but after much debate we decided to have a go at it. Good thing we did, the stay was amazing. Quiet, cozy and very clean...this modern two story cabin was just the right fit for our family. The rooms we of ample size and the deck was enormous! It wraps around the whole cabin so my pup was able to patrol the property and still be enclosed safely away from the woods. With the stream only a stones throw away and the seclusion this cabin offers I would highly recommend this as the perfect weekend getaway for a small family of our size. The absolute plus was the ability to bring my pup. The only thing I would perhaps mention is the tv was quite small and only in the main family area, but who goes to the Ruidoso to watch tv anyways?! All in all we plan on going back again in the future to Bearadise Chalet! more

I had the pleasure of staying at Noisywater Lodge this fall . The rustic setting ,delightful cabin\r and friendly atmosphere made for a wonderful getaway from the rat race . Noisywater Lodge is nestled in the upper canyon of Ruidosa and John and Glenda Duncan have done a marvelous job of maintaining this little gem . The area around Ruidosa has alot to offer in unique scenery and history of the 1800's . We had a very pleasant 4 nights ,the cabin was clean ,the kitchen and service second to none . I would definitly recommend Noisywater Lodge to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in Ruidosa and I will be back. more

This was our second trip to Noisy Water Lodge and Cabin Fever. This was a getaway weekend for my Sisters and I and we had such a wonderful time. Cabin Fever comes fully equiped with everything you need except food. The beds are so comfortable and the whole cabin feels just like home. We set out on the front deck Friday and Saturday night and watched a Mother Bear and her two cubs forage in the garbage can on the road! The hot tub on the front deck gives you the most wonderful veiw of the stars at night. There are several other cabins in the area but you really feel very secluded.\r My first choice when going to Ruidoso is Noisy Water Lodge and Cabin Fever. more

What a beautiful place! Had a Girls Get-a-way in June and stayed in Cabin Fever @ Noisy Water lodge - it was the perfect location. We felt right at home. There is a great kitchen - even tho we didnt use it. You could live on the front porch with the hot tub, views & just the right amount of privacy. We saw lots of wildlife, deer grazing everywhere and at night we watched a momma bear feed her cubs from the dumpsters! There are so many things to see and do in Ruidoso but at this cabin it's so tempting to just do nothing. This was actually the 3rd time I've stayed at this cabin - I always book it if at all possible! FYI: This is the cabin on Main Rd - there is another cabin fever in Ruidoso but I've never stayed there more

We recently stayed 5 days in Ruidoso @ the Noisy Water Lodge in the Upper Canyon of Ruidoso. The cabin was very clean and fully supplied with all items in the kitchen and throughout the cabin. The owners were the friendliest folks and even lent my husband and son a fishing pole and bait to fish on the river. Noisy Water Lodge also has internet service in the cabins (dial-up). We always look forward to staying @ Noisy Water Lodge for all our trips to Ruidoso. more

Noisy Water Lodge staff was great and everything about the cabin met expectations. Great views, Huge cabin, hot tub, very clean, all the ammenities you need. We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights for a ski trip recently, the cabin is not too far from the main strip of Ruidoso so just a 5 minute trip into town. Cabin comes with cable tv and WIFI so you dont miss a beat. Huge front patio that overlooks the mountain with the hot tub on one end provides for a relaxing atmosphere in the evening. more

We stayed in Cabin Fever for 4 nights. It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath rental and is sooooo cute. Accepts pets, has a hot tub and a full kitchen ready for cooking. The master bathroom has a HUGE bathtub perfect for two. It has a back and front porch. We watched the bear out front one evening. It was so lovely. more

My boyfriend and I just spent the last 3 days at the Sky Cabin at Noisy Water Lodge in ruidoso nm. I chose this cabin after many hours of searching for a place that allowed animals and smoking. Noisy Water Lodge is in ruidosos upper canyon and I love this place. Sky cabin is beautiful and well kept with two seperate decks and several sitting areas. The upstairs is very charming but the bed is kind of on the hard side and Cabin Fever is very close but there was no one staying there so it didnt matter to us.The cabin is well stocked with supplies and very comfortable. I will definetly be coming back to sky cabin in the winter this is the only place in ruisoso for us more

I recently spent about 10 days in the Bears Den cabin. The only word that comes to mind is WOW. To start the place was very clean. Other than that we had all the amenities that we would want/need, even at home. The best part of this cabin is the location. It sits at the top of the Noisy Water property and just looks out to a nice mountain in the back and the 100' pines in the front and every side. You are literally surrounded by wildlife. Saw about a dozen turkeys every day and countless deer. The bedrooms are perfect and beds were quite comfortable. Also the kitchen was spacious and had more than sufficient room for the 8 of us. Thank you for the great stay Noisy Water Lodge. You will definitely see us again. more

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and were taken aback by how much larger and nicer it was than the pictures made it seem on the website! This place is gorgeous! It has a huge, spacious patio, a propane bbq pit, greatly stocked kitchen(lots of pots and pans, muffin and bread pans, skillets, two coffee makers, dishwasher), bathroom amenities (i.e LOTS of towels, tp, soap) and a nice jacuzzi style tub upstairs. The view is amazing, and there were plenty of birds and deer that hung out around the place. It's tucked away in the upper canyon, and just across the way of the Rio Ruidoso. There was hi-speed internet (No Wi-fi), a nice HD flat screen tv, a cute fireplace, lots of fans available (no AC, but, who needs that in Ruidoso?!) The beds are comfy, the pillows quite firm.. the living area was nice and open, big huge windows overlooking your huge porch area.. this place was such a treat! The woman at the front office was very nice and helpful too. We had such a great time and I would recommend this place to any vacationing couple, small to med. size family or group of friends.. STAY AT THE BEARADISE CHALET, YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!! more

In talking with the owners (who were delightful), Noisywater was built in 1939 and originally had a dance hall and restaurant, and partygoers would eat and dance, then stay the night. Noisywater keeps both its rustic charm and sure enough, the stream is audible anywhere on the property. I stayed 3 nights, and every day I saw a huge mule deer buck in velvet, accompanied by several bucks and does. I saw a lot of birds too, and wished I'd remembered my bird book. Took a trip to Lincoln and soaked in the history of the Lincoln County war, Billy the Kid, Pat Garret, etc. I was taken with the beauty of this corner of NM, and surprised by the high mountains this far south. BTW, Mr. Duncan is very knowledgeable about local history, esp. the Lincoln County war. I'll be back to Noisy Water. more
