I've been a member for 2 years. Love the club.

Why the difference? 8/6/2003

Why are the downtown clubs so different? The seem fine, clean but when I go uptown visitng friends they are discusting, overcrowded and the staff is so rude. The clubs below houston are so much better why can't you be more consistent? Send the managers downtown to train?? I love the prodict, just wish it was the same everywhere. Pros: everywhere Cons: inconsistent more

Services, What Services 11/22/2002

Let's face it, if you don't want to pay even more than you already do you have to tolerate busy locker rooms all in need of a good dose of a clorox and the impersonally trained personal trainers. What was once a rising club with lots of fun classes is now a mass audience sub-par experience. Crowds, unclean conditions yet it's the only choice for the money. World gym is nicer, cleaner but the few locations are the biggest drawback. Pros: locations, classes Cons: cleanliness, more $, less service, prime time crowds more

BS&T 11/15/2002

Well the sweat & tears anyhow. My experience is that you have to be proficient in the gym in the first place as the trainers are more interested in looking cool. So if you are happy doing your own thing, it is tip top. Cobble Hill particularly friendly. more

luv the club! 11/7/2002

I've been a member for 2 years. Love the club. more

McDonald's of gyms 10/23/2002

yes, they are everywhere but the product sucks! Poorly maintained equipment and clueless trainers. more

It works for me! 9/24/2002

Most of the locations are nice and have a lot of classes to chose from. The spin classes are great although it would be great if they would add 1 or 2 long spin classes per week. I haven't liked the aerobics as much but classes are busy so they must be good. Pros: Good equipment, Great spin teachers Cons: Not always clean, Need better aerobics more

TERRIBLE 9/17/2002

While the classes are decent, the place is a dingy hole. The staff is not so helpful and the facilities are unacceptable, even at a mere $80 a month. It is no wonder they are the cheapest place in town. more

New York Superior Club 8/30/2002

I have been a member for years. This is a great club for the money. Open early morning to late night, saunas, steamrooms, courtesy and advice from skilled trainers. NYSC has gotten me in shape and motivated to keep going. With convenient locations, passport membership, and tremendous variety in classes, equipment and availability, it is one I am commited to. Pros: it's everywhere! Cons: few swim pools, meat market more

Progressive 8/7/2002

Having tried a lot of the gym chains in the City, I've found this one to be exceptional, especially in the courtesy of the staff and cleanliness of the premises. The staff is very progressive in its thinking and always glad to lend something new to your workouts. Pros: Inexpensive, Courtesy, Forward Thinking Cons: Crowded at times, Not Enough Machines more

Club That Makes Champions 8/7/2002

The NYSC have the most modern equipment ranging from Cardio equipment - Free Weights, etc. Their professional staff trainers are highly trained to assist and help anyone reach there desired goals. I started working out at the sports club in January, 2002 weighing 220lbs. Through excellent program submitted by the Sport Club, I now weigh appx 200lbs. I highly recommend the Sports Club, as the prices are very reasonable compare to a lot of other sports clubs. Pros: Superb Equipment, Cleanliness, Inexpensive Cons: None more

THE club 8/6/2002

You pay more, but you get more. this is a place that has all the latest equipment and classes, and there is zero attitude. people go here to seriously work out. i just LOVE the individual tv/computer monitors, which just helps to keep you working out even longer. more

convenient 8/2/2002

It's great to have a gym ANYWHERE you go in the city (but you pay for it). Their yoga classes are as good (if not better) than NY Yoga. Only gripe is that their pool on UES is often murky (despite being overchlorinated) and WAY too warm, while their midtown pool is better but very crowded so there's a 30 min limit. I often find myself swimming with someone hovering over me the last 10 minutes Pros: convenient Cons: kinda pricey more

ho hum 7/30/2002

Just another number here...totally not personalized and rediculously crowded especially at prime hours more

Not locked in 7/23/2002

The passport allows you to use all of the gyms, so there is something for everyone, AND you are not locked into a year contract! more

More for less 7/19/2002

NYSC offers a great variety of clubs, classes and facilities for members. Versatility at its best. more
