Providing Safe and Loving Care to Children of All Ages since 1893

Owner Message

  • The mission of Nebraska Children's Home Society (NCHS) is to provide safe and loving care to children of all ages.

All Nebraska teens and women who are pregnant or believe they may be pregnant have access to support services 24 hours a day, seven days a week through NCHS. Our staff provide confidential services focused on well-being of the mother and her unborn child.

Through 10 statewide offices, NCHS staff provide comprehensive children and family services including adoption, foster care, family support and education services.

The Children and Families Center is a community-based, family-centered neighborhood gathering place where any community resident can go for support, information and services. All services are free and confidential. The Center is located at 3549 Fontenelle Blvd in Omaha, Nebraska. Services include: free pre-natal and child development education classes, one-on-one & home-based services for young parents, study groups and tutoring for young parents, classes for high school and middle school girls, support groups for parents and grandparents, and information resource and referrals.

NCHS recruits, trains and supports adoptive and foster parents who can provide safe and loving care to children of all ages, including children that are medically fragile. NCHS builds families through adoption and provides lifelong support that equips parents and children to lead happy, healthy lives. NCHS continues to be the ONLY agency in the United States that does not charge fees for its adoption services.  The majority of our funding is provided by private contributions.

Services are provided throughout Nebraska with office locations in Omaha, Lincoln, Norfolk, Grand Island, Kearney, North Platte, Alliance and Scottsbluff.
