National Carburetors

DO NOT do any sort of business with this company. I ordered a marine quadrajet from them on 6/16/2014 didn't receive it, or any shipping info until 07/02/2014, and what I received was junk. Severely bent throttle linkage toward the carb body which caused a pinch point in the primaries not allowing them to close fully on their own. The secondary throttle shaft retaining pin was installed backwards which caused it to rest on the divorced choke housing holding the secondaries open at all times, and a vacuum leak in the secondary throttle shaft. I contacted customer service and spoke to Curtis, who fully agreed with the condition of the unit, and I told him I'd like a new unit seeing as I had paid for a product, and not received what I had paid for. He said he would send a new unit, and I would happily send back the faulty unit. He requested an email with pictures, so I sent him detailed photos via email, and after a few days of non response, I called, and reminded Curtis of our conversation, only to have him pretend he didn't know about it, and "asked the owner" who then told me to F#*K off. I spent $260 to have this company and everyone in it to treat me this way, and they feel they can charge you, but not hold up their end of the deal and stand behind their products. Now, I have to spend more money to take it to a PROFESSIONAL carb shop to have them fix the mistakes by this company. Again, DO NOT buy ANY products from this company. more

I needed a carb for my 86 Subaru Brat. I have rebuilt two different carbs with the same poor results. My car would not idle steady and the exhaust was deadly. I just installed the carb tonight, the old beast fired right up and settled into a nice smooth idle. The exhaust is tolerable now and much more power through out the rev range. For 150 bucks you really cant beat it. I just wish I would have ordered one a year ago and save all the frustration of trying to pass emissions. Thanks! more

We live on a small inland lake in south Michigan and our ski boat needed a carb rebuild. Although we asked them several times to verify that they would be shipping us an identical Holley carb model to the one we have, instead they ground off the stamped Holley numbers and placed their own branded sticker over the top of it with a false model number. No wonder the carb would not work with our Ford 351. Not only that, it is easy to modify a non-marine carb to "look" like a marine carb yet isn't vented like one (dangerous!). We could never get ahold of anybody and once we did, they said to send it back for a full refund. Once we sent it back, after about 7 wasted weeks due to their delay upfront, they refused to refund the entire amount. When asked if they always grind off the Holley carb model number off the units before shipping them out, they said "yes that is our standard practice". I got a local guy to rebuild our gummed up Holley carb and it works fine, which we should have done in the first place. Caution, you will likely not get the model carb you are paying for!
