I think we've tried every Chinese delivery spot in our 'delivery-radius' (Inner Sunset) and Nan King Road Bistro is probably the best Chinese for delivery. Thanks Nan King Bistro for keeping us fat and happy! more

Fantastic food! The sesame chicken was sweet and crisp and light on the coating...not like the typical orange globs rolled in sesame seeds you might expect. Crab cheese puffs and spring rolls were some of the best delivery I'd had. Everything was delicious and fresh tasting and the delivery was fast as well. Definitely recommended. more

Really good Chinese food! They were very fast over to the Richmond District, and the food was excellent. I ordered the egg rolls, coconut curry with tofu, and the "Atkins special" which is a collection of very nice, non-greasy sauteed veggies. Only disappointment was the hot and sour soup--I might have gotten the bottom of the pot, because it was very goopy (way too much starch). more

The Sesame chicken is out of this world! and is probably the best left overs I have had as well. the chicken when it came was exploding out of the box they gave me so much and it was still crispy when it came. more

SLOOOOWWW DELIVERY 11/9/2008

I made an order at 5:30 in the evening for delivery. At 7:30, my food still didn't arrive. I called at 6:40, and the lady assured me that my order was on the way. After three more phone cal ls, the lady offered me a $3.00 discount, which wasn't a good offer considering the amount of food I ordered. She told me then that she'd call me back when she spoke to the delivery driver. Although extremely tempted, I didn't tell them to keep the food, only because I was starving. The food finally arrived, and it wasn't bad. The General Zsou Chicken was very good, won ton soup not good, chow mein and everything else was fine. Pros: general zsou chicken Cons: delivery more

Excellent food 4/20/2008

The food is great and fresh. A lot of food. The price is great, cheap. The waiter Jack is always helpful. I like this restaurant. Colorful wall and open kitchen. The dining room and the bathroom are clean. It serves lunch and diner. Pros: Great food Cons: Too much food more

Amazing Asian cuisine at a great price 8/30/2006

Nan King Road is a treasure in the Inner Sunset. Nestled away on 9th, Nan King Road provides amazing food for unbelievable prices. There isn't a dish that I dislike -- and I've tried almost their entire menu. Specifically, I'd recommend two things: egg rolls (the best I've ever had) and sesame chicken (I believe the phrase ""to die for"" was created because of this dish). The Walnut Prawns and Eggplant Chicken are also amazing -- prawns are fresh and the chicken is breast meat -- not just ""white"" meat. Although their service can be slow, I've had numerous dinner parties here (20+ people) with no reservation and they have always been accommodating. When considering price and quality, Nan King is my favorite restaurant in the city. more

Good deal, but not great for big-party take-out 2/1/2006

Just got a large take-out order. The owner gave us a really good deal: $200 for 2 large trays each of broccoli beef, chicken with eggplant, veggie dish, shanghai noodles, potstickers, and egg rolls. There was definitely plenty of food. Nonetheless each dish kinda resembled each other and actually quite greasy. The 'famous' potstickers were bad with thick flour skins; egg rolls were worse than typical. I think if you're looking for cheap food with big portions and not necessarily good quality, then go for it. Pros: cheap, lots of veggie, nice staff Cons: greasy, too heavy on sauce more
