AWFUL EXPERIENCE 5/4/2017

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Let me start by saying that I have rented NUMEROUS properties over the years and I have never had an experience as terrible as this one. Nor have I ever written a bad review for anyone, ever. I have recently vacated one of their properties in Perdido, FL. Of my $1500 deposit that I paid to move in, I just received $125 of it back. They say that you can be present for the walk thru inspection upon vacating, but my property manager didn't have the time to do it while I was still in the area (convenient, right?). Well now, I'm being charged with $1374.56 for things that are basically their word against mine. We did have two dogs while living in their property and paid $60 extra a month in rent for them to do so, but I had the carpets professionally cleaned and I literally SCRUBBED THE WALLS to destroy any evidence that we had any pets at all. Well from what I was told (and charged $385 for) there was a "strong and very offensive pet odor" in the house. YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!! Maybe that's because they chose to do the move out inspection almost two weeks after I vacated the property. I'm sure stagnant air in 100 degree Florida weather with no AC is probably going to start to stink. Oh and the miscellaneous charges that we received were for not replacing the toilet seat covers (which we did), replacing a set of ugly vertical blinds on the back sliding glass doors because a couple were missing ($40 at Lowes btw), replacing a light on the oven (surely not more than $10, and painting over multiple spackle places in the bedrooms. Might I add that on the move out packet, it instructed us to spackle any holes and sand them down, and that they would cover the spot painting. Well the combination of these things mentioned cost us $425. INSANE. I could have easily bought a gallon of white paint for about 20 bucks and done it myself had I known the outrageous charges that we would soon be slapped with. When we moved because of a transfer, My Home Spot was a very helpful. Their real-time website kept me informed of all the homes they have. The staff was very helpful with me securing a home before we arrived. The staff made the process easy and quick. more

Renters beware! 5/9/2011

As renters, be cautious when renting from this company! My husband and I are a military couple that rented a property from MyHomeSpot for a year - upon move-in, the house was in fair condition, to say the least. Holes in the walls, broken bathroom fixtures, a horrid paint job in one of the bedrooms. All of these things, although noted upon move-in, we fixed (on our own dime, by the way!) and more! We left the property in immaculate condition, made sure to clean thoroughly - the girl doing the move-out inspection even said it was one of the best move-out conditions she had ever seen! She never told us of any discrepancies and we turned in the keys FIVE DAYS early. Three weeks later we get our deposit back, less $150 for cleaning fees. Upon calling and questioning the company, an employee told us that the new tenant complained that the oven wasn't clean enough and there were some hairs in one of the bathroom drawers and made MyHomeSpot pay for a cleaning company to come out, and therefore we were assessed a cleaning charge. We disputed the claim and three weeks later was denied, saying that the claims weren't from the new tenant and that the employee doing the move-out inspection couldn't tell us on the spot what we could be charged for "without first reviewing archived photos, move-in files, lease files, etc" REALLY?!? You couldn't tell me that an oven or bathroom wasn't clean without looking at a photo first! And even if you did have to review a photo, you had 5 days to let us know... We would have obviously come back to clean the oven if we knew we were going to be charged $150!!! Renters be wary!!! This company likes to nit-pick and are not very appreciative of good tenants. more

It's the best experience I've ever had 3/3/2011

I could not sell my home and renting it was a scary thought. I called around to find the best price and spoke with Glenn. His point was that myhomespot was not a sales company, but a professional management company. After I thought about that it made sense. I needed my home to be cared for and not treated as a rental by a company looking for another listing to sell. They are a little more expensive than others but I gotta say that the service I get is amazing. more

I have had the pleasure of working with the team from MyHomeSpot.com over the last few years and it has always been pleasurable. With the recent uptick in foreclosures we have been working a lot more together to make sure the properties stay in good shape. They are pros and highly recommend them. more
