Solid place for after work, pre-game, late night 1/19/2012

Mustang Sally's is a place I seem to drop in whenever I pass by later in the day. The biggest appeal of all is the bartenders, who always give you a big hello and make you feel they're glad you came. The tap system is first-rate, and the tap beer is always fresh and cold, and there's a nice line-up to choose from. Very solid pub fare, and the dinner specials are almost always a great choice. more

Great food and drink spot before/after MSG events 9/28/2010

The food here is tasty, the drinks even tastier, and you cant beat the location. Its conveniently located by MSG and many theaters. Mustang Sally's has been serving New Yorkers for many years and will for years to come. Highly recommended. more

$16 Microwaved Chicken Dinner Special – Craptastic 8/13/2010

Yes, it was microwaved though was assured by the waitress they 'don't microwave anything.' Really? Because my beaming white, rubbery, tasteless excuse for poultry is not only absent on any grill marks (unlike the grilled chicken salad across the table from me) but was absent of any markings that would lead one to believe it had sat on a flat top or in a pan or even maybe a broiler. I'd might have suspected it steamed if it weren't bone dry. You see Ms. Waitress I have worked in many a restaurant. I have cooked on many a line and your chicken was not only microwaved but you suck and Mustang Sally's sucks for trying to pass that fowl-flavored shoe sole as a dinner special. Mustang Sucky's. more

Beers before the game 3/23/2009

This is a great place to grab a couple of drinks before a game or concert at MSG. It's walking distance to MSG, the staff and service is usually pretty good Pros: Walking distance to MSG more

Had some good group events here! 11/24/2008

Have hosted some good group events here including a large Super Bowl party for my New York Giants Meetup Group and some Mets game watching events with New York Mets Meetup Group. more

Excellent Bar Crowd after MSG Events 6/26/2008

getting 5-stars because was there on a monday night after my volleyball match... was watching some monday night football (lots of tv's here), and the bartender was so chill (nice old dude) and just got us a free round of booze.. a chill spot, it was empty since it was a monday so i cant say how it is during the other nights.\r ok so went back there to watch some sunday football.. if your game is on national tv, they have sound, other games that run of the satellite wont. didnt really matter, this place was exactly what i was looking for on that sunday, nothing too crowded, quick service, and lots of big tv's.. boom\r Pros: Near MSG more

Avoid 5/27/2008

Somehow managed to go to Mustang Sally's twice in a week - once on a Saturday (took my family out to lunch) and later on in the week for meeting with a client (his choice - I kept quiet). Was disappointed both times. The food is good, nothing fantastic, but the service and management is horrendous. \r \r On my first visit, the food took over an hour to arrive. When I asked the waitress what was holding the order up, she claimed ignorance and then quickly (and repeatedly) ran away. When I asked to speak to the manager so I can complain, I was told she would arrive shortly. When the manager failed to arrive, on the way out I asked the hostess and was told that both the manager and owner left.\r \r Second time, pretty much the same thing. Late food, lousy service, absent management. No way to run a restaurant. Avoid. Pros: Decent food Cons: Lousy service, no one to complain to more

Great Burgers 1/28/2008

We came here after the Kathy Griffin concert as did many people. We waited by the hostess desk for a long time & had to go find her. They didn't ssem to be ready for a crowd, their was also only 1 waitress and although she was nice, she couldn't handle the rush after 10 pm. but with that said, this place had the best burgers I've tasted in a long time. So Juicy. Great music playing and alot of TVs. Just 3 short blocks from MSG, it's perfect for a late night stop. Pros: convienent location, good food Cons: Not enough staff on Saturday night more

Fantastic Spot!!! Beer, Sports and Great Food!! 10/3/2007

Great place! Go there regularly for lunch/dinner, always get superb service, and love the food, especially the Irish dishes, the Sheperds Pie is always a good choice. For games, its got whatever you need wherever you look, and decent prices for drinks. Good place to go with the guys to watch a game/ hang out, and just as good to go out to dinner. Top Marks!! Pros: Good food, Good drinks, Good prices! more

Garment District Find 8/24/2007

\r Good food, friendly staff and the bathrooms are pretty clean. Prices are reasonable $4.50 for a bottle of Coors Light. They don't have a jukebox but instead play use a Music Choice Channel one of their TV's for background entertainment. Crowd is a mix of blue collar workers and middle to upper class. There are a lot of tv's throughout the bar, as usual Grover is right, however when sitting at the bar, it's hard to see more than one at a time. more

Great atmoshere! 5/15/2007

Wow! What a great place to watch all sports. Tons of flat screen tvs and 2 large projectors. Not only is Sallys great for watching sports but the food is all very good. The best calamari in the city. You have to try it.\r All the servers are so friendly and really cute. Great atmoshere. You have to try Sallys foryourself! more

Excellent Pub Grub 12/3/2006

We saw this advertised on Citysearch before our trip to NY, and thought it sounded like a great place for a meal. We wern't dissapointed. The food was very good, especially the Shepherds Pie I had, and the atmosphere was pretty lively. TV Screen are also in every available seat, so wherever you sit, you gonna see the game. Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Easy view of TV screens Cons: Crowded at peak times more

Friendly Spot 7/5/2005

The service here was excellent. Although the food isn't all that special (good burger, good steak, good chicken pot pie, but the fries and rings are food-service standard issue), Sally's has a great, welcoming vibe, and our waitress was on top of everything and really made us feel at home. more

Beers with the boys 6/18/2003

This is a great pub for a few after work beers and a burger. There's nothing execptional about the place, but everything you want and expect from a standard pub is there. Beer selection is a bit slim, but seats are plentiful and there are several sports monitors placed about the bar. The place is clean and friendly. It also sports a fairly traditonal Irish/American feel. Not made for bringing in your best date perhaps, but a nice spot for beer with the boys. Pros: Location, Clean, Comfortable more

heaven = football, beer & a burger 11/21/2002

Friendly bartenders, NFL satellite and good burgers. What more could you ask for? Pros: satellite football, burgers, friendly staff more

Stay on the mustang if you want Great! 9/11/2002

Mustang Sally's is ok. Nothing to write home about. I have been a few times for convenience. Service was curt, the burgers were ok and filling but not one of the best. Each time I have had there soup it was lacking something (taste wise) Over all its average place, nothing special. more
