Be Industrious 4/11/2006

You might be a transplant and want to learn more about this area in which you now live. Or you might have grown up here and want a trip down memory lane. For either type, the Museum of History and Industry is a long time fixture in local life. The kids will find displays that allow them to walk the old streets and see how lumber and fishing shaped our region. Adults will see the old signs and an old hydroplane. It's a short afternoon diversion. The kids may grow bored a little quicker than you hope. Parking is good and the arboretum makes a convenient picnic ground in the summer. Handicapped parking is limited and access is mediocre at best. The gift shop is great if you're looking for those books or DVD's about local TV celebrities. more
