The REAL pastry chef must have been on vacation! Make sure you ask for Richard, he's the in-house pastry chef, came here from France, worked with the famous Jean Louis of D.C.'s Paladin. He's the best--everything he makes is incredible. I've seen people stop him on the street and ask him if he's making his apple pie, or if there's a fresh batch of macaroons. I've heard, though, that he doesn't make everything that the shop sells, so be sure to ask! If Richard made it, you won't be disappointed!
