Robert F. Munroe Day School has two locations. The 3 and 4k's location is in Quincy on King Street, and the rest of the school (5k through 12th grade) is located about 15 minutes away in Mount Pleasant. RFM is a good private school that offers an excellent education. It has dual enrollment for high schoolers, so college credit can be attained before graduation from high school, and it also has a strong language arts department. Students are prepped well for college. RFM is a small school, and is tightly knit. Many students are locals and their parents may have also attended the school. There are pros and cons to this, obviously, but every school has its pros and cons. The athletic department is also smaller than some of the schools in other counties, but it offers many different sports for students. Munroe is also becoming more diverse, thanks to scholarship programs as well as new people moving into the area. Parents are frequently involved at this school, as it is a private school and volunteers are essential in many areas of student life.
One of the main problems with this school is the drive. It is out in the country. Some may have a problem with this. It may not bother others. They do have buses to transport students, however.
The cost may be an issue to some. Tuition is just shy of $4000 annually. For families with 3 or more children, there is a tuition break, as far as I know. It is still half of what Maclay's tuition is.
Uniforms are not required at this school, but there is a dress code that may or may not be reasonable to some.
All in all, this is a good private school that strives to provide the best quality education possible. It is worth checking out if you live in the Gadsden County region.
