I saw the review where they made the wrong cake for a birthday party, then told the customer they would not ""make it right"" unless they brought the cake back (right, take the cake away from 5 year olds & say, sorry!).
Well, I ordered a cake for my daughter who goes to school in Salt Lake City (I now live near Atlanta). I was explicitly clear in my instructions for what I wanted. The young girl took the order down correctly, but the baker screwed it up & they made the wrong cake for my daughter's birthday.
When I call back, the same girl who took the order confirmed my order correctly, but her manager said that they would only ""make it right"" if she brought back more than half the cake...! Wow, far from the Customer-friendly policy! THEY screwed up and admitted such, but their company policy is to put the burden on the Customer because they know most people won't immediately stop a party or function just to bring back a cake.
So just be careful when you buy anything from this place. I'm sure the staff is friendly, I'm sure Mrs Backer is nice, but their Customer Satisfaction policies are firmly rooted in the yesteryear - a business' actions firmly reflect the attitudes & feelings of their management.
Just beware if anything is not exactly to what you specified... If you just go in & buy a gingerbread cookie, you should be safe, but when instructions get any more complicated than that...
