Best

Motts Minatures is filled with tiny items for dollhouses...and dollhouses themselves. These are not the type of dollhouses that you let you kids play with. Look at-maybe. But play...

Intimidating Fraudulent Business Practices 6/3/2014

I placed an internet order to MiniShop.com and called following day to confirm. They did not have the merchandise in stock nor did they know if they could get it, so I cancelled my order. Subsequently, I placed an order elsewhere and received the merchandise and it was exactly as pictured and described. Surprisingly 3 weeks later I received my cancelled order, but the item was very poorly done like a factory second. When I contacted Mott's, they claimed I never cancelled, however they do not accept cancelled internet orders of any kind--Read their pages and pages of order/return policies. So I requested an RMA with a REQUIRED tentative new order that must total more than the initial order. He was trying to eschew my contacts with him because he has this 'must contact within 3 days policy' and wouldn't turn on his FAX machine or confirm their number! Then this creep sent me two 'Violations Message' emails threatening to spam me along with a FTC warning against sharing this email with anyone else. The section of the regulations he quotes has to do with intercepting live wire tapping by a third party. A few days later, he sent me his RMA. It was a document requiring me to relinquish all my rights while totally exonerating him! The terms stated were these: 50% refund only (not inc. the other handling fees he has in his return policies); no refund on shipping; must pay to ship back his merchandise, which I did; and must accept factory defected merchandise, which would be lying about my reason for return, so I wouldn't be able to fight the charge with my credit card company. I figured I would be getting back about $17 refund out of the $80 originally 'spent' on my previously cancelled order--not to mention the additional new order he requires!! The credit card co. stood behind me and got my money back. Nobody can force you to buy merchandise that is 'not as described.' I wish I had read the scores of horrible reviews before because what others say further describes my experience with Mott's. STAY AWAY!! more

Shop Here At Your Peril-You've Been Warned! Can't Believe The Terrible Customer Service. 9/3/2013

I placed an online order on June 28th on my smart phone and accidentally hit the 'submit' button before I had finished entering my entire credit card info. Two months later (Yes, two months!!!) I receive a terse email 3rd Notice (I never received the first or second notice) from them stating my 'non-cancellable, special order' has not been paid for yet and that if I didn't pay, they would send my account to collections for failure to pay. I replied that A) It's been two months and this is not the third notice, but the first; B) I did not appreciate the threat of a collection agency and rude language used by them; and C) How can you let two months go by and not contact me about the status of my account? After much back and forth correspondence from this terrible company, I am still receiving rude and threatening emails . I ended up telling them that since I did not complete my payment information, the order was not complete and therefore, they could not hold me for 'contracting them to supply my order'. I was accused of lying, of falsifying an order and my integrity called in to question for "not paying", even though they lied about the third notice I was sent, never contacted me even though my email address and phone number were at their fingertips. When I stated I would be calling them that evening to get this whole affair straight, I was then told that they would not talk to me on the phone and that I would violate 'my contract and their terms' if I did call. I was told I had to pay a cancellation fee and a restocking fee (on an order that was never pulled nor addressed) or face collections. I told them, "Good luck with that!" and to cease and desist contacting me from that point onwards. Whoever is running this company/business is disreputable, dishonest and just plain "hinky" in their business practices. There is no customer service, only threats and insults. Avoid Mott's like the plague and only buy from good, honest miniature item dealers. more

ROUGHNECKS!!! 5/20/2012

After all these reviews and complains from sooooooooo many customers. Anybody reading this company's reviews can conclude that this "organization" lacks of ethics and moral. Please read my comment: This is worst customer service I experienced ever!!! They don't like to give information or status on your order. They are sarcastic, ironic and make you feel like an idiot for asking questions. One of their eternal answers is: "tht information is part of the terms of the sales contract posted on the web site that all customers have read, understood and agreed to before using the web site or placing any order and that you read, understood and agredd to again during the check out process." I have been sending and receiving a series of emails questioning on the status of my order and questioning their policies and procedures; I know this probably doesn't make any sense, but I just want to know how far gets this company mistreating a customer and making him feel that is not way that they are going to lose the argue. more

worst miniature company in the business, they lie, cheat and steal your money 5/9/2012

Do not buy miniatures from this horrible company. I cannot thank you enough for finally sending me the shipment invoice for the very first time, which clearly states, YOU DID NOT SEND ME 5 DOLLS. As opposed to your email message yesterday, clearly stating that you knew the exact box dimensions I got, and that you knew that two dolls were packed on the top of the packing material, and that you knew three dolls were packed below the packing material, at the bottom of the box! Your company charged me through PayPal approx 68.00 plus, yet you did short my order, according to your own paperwork, by two dolls. I thought you had shorted me 4 dolls, but now I see your company shorted me 2 dolls, as YOUR PAPERWORK SAYS THAT 2 dolls were not available and I should re-order. You outright lied to me yesterday in your email! I see no refund on my PayPal account for THE MOTTS DOLLHOUSES/MINISHOPS NOW admitted 2 doll shortage, much less the other 2 dolls I did not get, and were NOT in the original box. Moreover, one would hope that the people helping upset customers for any company, would check their facts 1st, and read the customer's emails 1st, before sending any return emails that only further infuriating the already dissatisfied buyer/customer. Moreover, one might expect any customer service employee to spell check their emails before hitting SEND, thus your misspelled word invoice below spelled invice. So, thank you again, as in your haste to show me how wrong I was in claiming any shortage to my order from MOTTS DOLLHOUSES/MINISHOPS, you proved that you did indeed SHORT MY ORDER, in direct discrepancy of every email you have sent me to date. Please account for my refund according to your records. BULLY-BOYS 3/27/2012

Perfect description for their customer service. This is worst customer service I experienced ever!!! They don't like to give information or status on your order. Rude 2/12/2012

I wish I could give ) stars! would never order from this company. I did and my order didn't arrive. Every time I asked about it, I was scolded by a "form letter" reminding me that I hadn't read the fine print. Only after 3 weeks of my kids waiting for a simple doll was I informed that I should have known that it wasn't coming. And scolded for violating my "contract." No contract, since nothing had been sent. . . but why not just tell me that??? more

Don't buy from this place!!! 1/20/2012

Horrible experience! I ordered doll house stairs for a 1 " scale dollhouse, which their description states it is for 1 1" dollhouse! It didn't fit, they do not want to refund money, and it is VERY difficult to find their exchange policies. Run, don't walk away from this place! more

Insulted by "customer service" 12/5/2011

Worst experience with online customer service ever. more

Worst online purchase ever! 1/1/2011

This business has both a retail store and an online business. I haven't shopped in the store, but I did have a particularly bad experience with them via their web site. I found the staff to be almost comically rude, and their "terms and conditions" to essentially be they can do whatever they want and the fault/responsibility will always be with the buyer. They will not handle customer service inquiries by phone, only via email (which should have tipped me off.) Email responses to my inquiries were so shockingly rude that I was torn between feeling angry and feeling sorry for how wretchedly unhappy this person must be. I have now looked around online a little more and found that everything they have can be found on other sites, often at a better price. If you enjoy treating your customers badly, you at least need to offer something special or superior value! I assume their business is failing which is why they aren't concerned about repeat business. So for the rest of my project I will shop elsewhere. more

Fun for dollhouses 2/28/2006

Motts Minatures is filled with tiny items for dollhouses...and dollhouses themselves. These are not the type of dollhouses that you let you kids play with. Look at-maybe. But play with or touch-NO. So much time and money go into these things...you would be amazed at what you can buy for a dollhouse. From Victorian wallpaper, to working chandeliers and lamps, to tiny forks and spoons, knick knacks, tiny towels to go inside bathroom cupboards. Some people go all out to make these homes as realistic as possible. Although I dont have the patience for this hobby, I do find it fascinating! more

Dollhouse Shop 10/6/2005

I fell in love with this place! They have the greatest little dolls and everything is so cute. Sure it gets expensive but I could not resist the cuteness! The lady working there was so nice to me! The service was great and I didn't have to wait in line or anything. When I first went in there, there weren't that many people and parking was easy. They have the greatest little mini stuff. more

Mott's Miniature & Dollhouse Shop Inc: Kind of like a dollhouse 8/11/2005

I went to Mott's Miniature and Dollhouse Shop to find a doll I was collecting. They have a large warehouse full of dolls and selection of dolls that were locked up in the back. Some had missing arms or missing heads, but I think I found the doll I wanted. I hope it is authentic. They were not too helpful in helping me find the doll. I also had a poor experience with the same cashier clerk. She did not give me the right change. more

Great Selection, Average Pricing 8/7/2005

This is one of very few miniature and doll house stores in Southern California. The inventory is really large and fantastic, and some items do go on sale at times. The pricing is a little higher than you might find on line, but at least I don't have to pay for shipping if I find the item I need right here. The salespeople are not very talkative and one woman made us feel as if we were bothering her. If not for the large selection of items, the clerk's attitude would have earned this store a lower rating. more
