This is a beautiful little school and seems very cozy and friendly at first glance. The problem starts with the negative mindset of the Director. She discourages parents from being involved in their child's schooling--that is for the teachers to do. Yet, she insists on giving intrusive and excessive parenting advice to the parents there. Her teachers seem very caught up in the trend, regularly asking parents to "go ask Regine" what they should be doing at home. There is very little differentiated education and the children are left to do work if they want to. If they don't, then they are unproductive with very little direction from teachers. My 4 year old was in the preschool while my 8 year old was at the elementary campus. My 9 year old learned no study habits, so I pulled her out after a conference with the director where she told me she didn't expect my daughter to improve. (she tested 99th percentile in GATE) My husband and I commented on the coldness we felt at the preschool campus. The teachers were never interacting with the kids when we would arrive for pick up or drop in for a visit. They sit in chairs around the perimeter of the room. As soon as we moved our 3 year old out of this school and into another (Satori is GREAT) she stopped begging me to stay home from school. Please beware of this institution. It seems so earthy and sweet, but it has been a terrible experience for both of my children. If you are considering this school I urge you to talk with people whose children have attended.
