I graduated from MINW last year (2007) and it was a life changing experience for me. Even when I was neck-deep in work (and there's a LOT of work) I loved it. It was very inspirational and refreshing to me (I feel good about humanity again :) I can't imagine getting a better grounding in Montessori theory and classroom practice than at I did at MINW. The staff was professional and friendly - very helpful but were still good about abiding by school policies, etc.. Ginni (the trainer) has to be seen to be believed - every day she would come in with energy and give these wonderful, passionate and USEFUL lectures on the theory and the materials. It's worth listening to her speak at a parent night or info night if you're on the fence about taking the course! The facility is pretty nice. Could be bigger in the practice classroom but I hear they're getting a second practice classroom so it won't be so crammed with big adult bodies when you're practicing with the Montessori materials. I'm really proud of the work I did at MINW and the name of the training center carried weight when I applied for jobs around the country (even in Connecticut, Chicago, etc...). Be aware - it's a very thorough and intensive course, so be prepared to work hard and keep in mind that you won't have a ton of free time. This is not like an online or distance course where you can take it at your own pace. They work you hard but you come to love it! I would recommend it to anyone who is committed to improving the lives of children and is interested in alternative education!
Pros: Amazing lecturer, facility is pretty nice, incredibly in-depth and thorough training
