Excellent educational experience 10/10/2012

Thanks to Montessori Children's House, my two children are advanced for their age with their reading and writing. The teachers and staff are patient and kind.... my children have learned these qualities as well. The school is immaculate. The teachers keep their rooms in top condition and make a calm enviroment for those to learn in. Each day my children learn something new that surprises me! I am very happy with the experience my children have had in the 2 years they have attended. Mrs. Efiie and Mr. Paul run a great school! more

C- Montessori 11/7/2011

This school has seriously degraded. My daughter attended several years ago and the teachers were excellent. Then, a couple years later, I enrolled my son and they really did have janitors teaching classes in the afternoon. The excellent (certified) teachers we loved were gone. We are seriously working to unlearn the incorrect handwriting that my son picked up there. Not to mention the spelling and incorrect grammar. My son brought home a worksheet on vegetables and the title was Vegatable. Seriously. The teaches' thick accents and misuse of verb tense has been hard to overcome. They try, but they need to spend the money for certified Montessori teachers. That's what we thought we were paying for... more

Best Decision I made for my son 5/24/2010

After 2 years of trying another "so-called" montessori school. I felt as if I wasted time and money at the other school, my son was so behind with reading and basic writting skills. THANK GOD for Mrs Effie and Mr Paul at MCH within a matter of 2 months my son was not only writting but able to complete a basic reading book and began to spell words out. After nearly a year my son is able to read through an entire level 2 story book. GREAT JOB!!! thanks to MCH more

children's house montessori-allen 11/8/2009

I'm a 1st time mom, who like any other mom, was reluctant to put my baby into a childcare. My husband and I checked many schools in the Allen area and finally decided to put my 6 week old baby into Children's House Montessori. I could not have found a better infant program. The clean, bright, and spacious classroom made me feel like my child is free to explore the classroom germ free without bumping into any classroom furniture. I love the small ratio and qualified, dedicared, infant teachers. When I watch them, especially the lead teacher, wh o has been an infant teacher for many years, interact with the babies, you can tell how much they enjoy them. Every time i pick up my son in the late afternoon, he looks and smells clean and happy. This gives me so much relief because I know my son is in good hands all day long. I feel even better when I get his daily report and I feel so invvolved when I know his daily schedule. I feel like my baby is at home away from home thanks to CHM's wonderful staff. more

clarification of review below 2/25/2009

It seems that the review published by "Ann L" below is mistaken with respect to which school it is referring to. The "Montessori Children's House" in Plano, where both my daughter and son attend, does not in fact have an Allen location. Perhaps the previous reviewer had their facts mixed up. As far as my experience has gone, it has been nothing but completely satisfactory. I have had very pleasant encounters with the director and all of the staff at MCH. I believe that they go out of their way to personally help each parent/child. I highly recommend MCH in Plano to parents of pre-school and elementary children looking for a genuinely caring and unique place. more

Children's House Montessori in Plano 11/1/2005

My daughter (who is now 6 1/2) attended Children's House Montessori in Allen - but they also own the Plano location on Hedgecoxe. We were very thrilled with the Montessori method of teaching. The teachers speak softly and quietly, the classrooms are warm, calm and inviting, and the children thrive. The only negative thing I can say about this particular school is that we did not care for the Director and many of the teachers. I don't believe it is an accredited Montessori school. My second daughter is now enrolled in a Montessori school in Plano that IS accredited and I can definitely tell a huge difference. All of the teachers have to be certified and you can tell it is just run differently. more
