Wonderful school and child care 5/10/2011

My eldest child (age 3 now) has attended this school for almost a year now. This Montessori school really has worked for her. My 2nd child has been attending since he was 9 weeks old and also is doing great. Of course as a baby it's not really school as much as childcare, but they give more natural type toys and learning and what I love the most is how clean it is. The teachers are very caring too. My son's head teacher has been there for 10 years and my daughter's head teacher has been there for 30 years. I'm at the school all the time and observe everything going on and am really impressed. It's true that you can feel the peace in the school. It's quiet and the kids learn so much. You will spend more than the average day care, but it is a great school. Anytime I have needed to talk to a teacher or the director I have had all the time and help I have needed. They help me out daily and I really appreciate the attention they give to my family. more

Best Early Childhood Education Around! 11/18/2008

I have two children in this school. The oldest is 5, he started here at age 3 months and is now a Kindergartner. I have always been very pleased with the amount of attention he has recieved from the teachers, and the wonderful opportunities he has had for personal growth, both acedemically and socially. One example is that beginning at age 3 he has attended spanish class and now comes home using the words he has learned. My two year old has thrived in the Montessori programming as well. Believe it or not, these teachers can get 20+ one and two year olds to sit quitely in a circle and participate in group activites as well as work quitely by themelves at complteing individual activiteis. Besides the normal montessori programming, there are option activites in which you can enroll your child, which take place during the normal school day AT THE SCHOOL! One day a week both of my children participate in Jump Bunch which is a physical fitness program, and another day during the week my oldest takes part in an Art Class. Pros: Convenient location for parents working in the Tech Center, Loving, Clean Learning Environment more

My child has excelled here! 11/12/2008

We have been at this Montessori since my son was 6 months old. I have been very pleased with the level of care and education he has received. The center has made some significant changes in the past 9 months and it shows! The Montessori program has really helped my son learn self control and independence while excelling in social and language skills. Pros: teachers, program more

Great school! 10/31/2008

My two year old has been at Greenwood since he was 4 months old. I can't believe how much he has learned and how caring the staff has been! The Montessori method allows him flexibility to choose much of the work he does during the day. At the same time, excellent manners, sharing, and kindness are cornerstones of learning. Pros: Location, staff, parental involvement, safety Cons: Ambience more

Excellent Child Care 10/31/2008

I have two young children at this school and am very pleased with the level of care that they receive. The staff at the Montessori is very professional and responsive to parent requests. They really encourage parent feedback and are constantly making improvements to their teaching programs and facilities. Also, I love the fact that the teachers write up a daily report of each child's activities for the day. It really helps me to get a sense of how each child's day went. The location makes it great for parents that work in the Tech Center. And there is a great pediatrician within a quarter mile of the school - which makes it that much more convenient to bring the children in for check ups. I highly recommend that you consider this school if you are looking for child care in the tech center area. more

Great Montessori Program 10/30/2008

We have two children in ths school and are extremely pleased with the programs. I grew up with a Montessori school teacher as a mother and this school demonstrates all of those fundamentals that I learned growing up. The teachers are very caring and many of them have been there a very long time. My kids are excelling and learning new things daily. I also was glad to hear they take infants, as many schools don't. I hihgly recommend this preschool for anyone working or living in the DTC area! Pros: Great teachers, excellent learning environment more

Best daycare ever! 10/29/2008

I have been going here for 5 years, both my children have been enrolled since they were infants. WE LOVE THIS SCHOOL. They listen well, fix our concerns, and with the new management, recommend it to all our friends who are looking to enroll their children in school. They reflect all the Montessori philosophies, and my children have been learning so much more than other kids in other schools. I wouldn't go anywhere else. Pros: Great staff, great class size, parent involvement is encouraged Cons: Closed on holidays more

Not Recommended 5/12/2008

I've seen another review that stated this is not a Montessori school, and that is completely accurate. This school was purchased by Bright Horizons and it has been terrible. In all fairness, they are trying to correct the problems but everything is too little too late. It really does depend on what room your child is in as to how organized and orderly the experience. Both my children have fallen behind academically and the teachers and children are quite obviously unhappy. We're leaving. Pros: I believe the teachers care - but since they're unhappy they'll probably be leaving Cons: Disorganized, poor communication, often chaotic, general feeling of unhappiness more

Don't be fooled - this is no Montessori 9/21/2007

This was a wonderful Montessori school until it was purchased by Bright Horizons earlier this year. Way too many changes. There are no warm fuzzies at this place any more! Pros: good familes who will probably all be leaving Cons: unhappy children and parents more

Awful! 5/21/2007

This entire organization is a wreck. The management is awful, the programing is lacking, and prices have increased 15% over the past two years. We are on our way out the door with our two children as quickly as possible. When inquiring this week into a relocation to another one of their owned facilities, the center manager told us that they had already done enough for us and she was not interested in meeting with us anytime soon. She was referring to a meeting we had almost a year prior when we considered the same move for various reasons. Both were run by the same company and we ultimately remained in the then current center. Please do not put this operation on your list.....if so, beware! Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything more
