I had DJ-ed there with a buddy of mine once and she agreed on the method of payment from how many people at the door.At the end of the night as we were about to collect our cut,she says "BYE".On Monday I had emailed her.She got back to me on Tuesday and she totally denied our deal regarding payment.I give this place a solid "0"' for this place and shadiness with this lady.DO NOT,I REPEAT,DO NOT DJ THERE OR EVEN COME HANG OUT.YOU GOT FRIGGIN NERVE GIGI TO DO THIS TO DJS,ESPECIALLY THE ONES MAKING YOU MONEY.GREEDY I CAN SAY. Pros: Must to say good hole in the wall Cons: Watch out for Gigi the promoter, she`s Bi-polar more

Greatest place for private party!!! 9/15/2007

I just had my birthday party at Syn Lounge last night and my friends and I had a wonderful time. I had a work related fund raiser at Syn lounge a month ago and I got in contact with the bar manager and she was so sweet and excited, I knew right away this was where I wanted to be for my party. The service was wonderful and all the staff really respectful and friendly (my girl friend even has a crush on the guy bar tender from last night). You don't have to wait for 30 minutes to get your drinks. My friends loved it and most of them had never been there before, they kept asking me how I found the place. I just want to say thank you to Syn Lounge, I had a great time and I appreciate everything you guys did. It was great to have the place full of my friends all night. I highly recommend this place, especially for a private party! more

BEST PLACE TO HAVE A PRIVATE PARTY!!! I've had dozens of friends have their PRIVATE PARTIES year after year at the Syn Lounge. Matter of FACT we have reserved the place for 2 events in the month of JUNE 2007 (2 Birthday Parties) If you've ever been to Italy...The Syn Lounge has a look straight out of the pages of the Bars/Lounges overlooking the Grand Canals of Venice, Italy. For those who have traveled the world, I'm sure you would agree! I've traveled to Hong Kong, Paris, New York, London, South Beach (Florida) and the Clubs in IBIZA, Spain ...etc, etc, etc... The Best Bar/Lounge that I've seen in San Francisco, with a Smooth, Swank, & Romatic feel is The Syn Lounge. more

I love the Syn Lounge and little Gigi didn't ask me to write a review 5/13/2007

"Wow", there are some angry reviewer's. I work up the hill at the hospital & visited numerous occasions with co-workers. I recently had my 28th B-Day Party and invited 35 friends. The place was a little to busy, but that seems to be normal on the weekends. I'm not there every night, so there may be slow nights. My co-workers and I also recently witness the door man ask a party to leave. This little girl had the foulest mouth and thought acting tuff gets things done. She supposedly had a big party coming and wanted her own D.J. Gigi tells people that jerseys and sweats are not allowed during late evenings. "Wow', this girl went bi-polar. Gigi had politely told me the same for my B-Day. Common be serious, the place is nice, plays hip hop/modern rock and doesn't charge. We thought the door man did a great job and offered him a cigerette. He said you get these kids thinking they can do anything. Anyway, for the best part of the previous review.s I find it extremely funny that a D.J. would work for $50. My brother D.J.'s in San Diego and I know what he charges. This D.J. Ra, must be a newbie or totally pathetic. I think this D.J. was fired or replaced by the bar. My brother bad mouths clubs that had replaced him. By the way, Gigi didn't ask me to write a review. I'm glad to do this and help her out. Also, who is this long haired guy stated in the other review? Anyway, I've got other reviews to do, with Gary Danko, MatrixFillmore, Butterfly and Rosewood. Theres a new girl in town and she's going to rip it up with good or brutal reviews. Ta-ta, L.F. Pros: its a great place, love the hip hop/modern rock Cons: sometimes to packed, street parking, they need a hot guy bartender more

Owner ,and Manger GiGi gets all their friends to write great reviews on CITYSEARCH!! Don't be fooled! 5/6/2007

I know that the owner and the Bar Manager, GiGi gets their family and friends to write great reviews on City Search and all the other sites. How could the SYN Bar get 5 stars when its always empty and they get the worst music in town. One of my friends use to D.J ( D. J. Ra) for them and tells me that they pay there D.J's 50.00 for 5 HOURS and charges the D.J's for all their drinks. Being a fellow D.J. this is painful. Spinning for 50.00 for 5 Hours! This is why their music happens to be BAD, BAD, and BAD!!!! They really need to work on the class and the service. The long hair owner is a joke too. He walks around the bar thinking he has the HOTTEST bar in S.F. Buddy, go check out FLUID and BamBudha Lounge! You might learn something! Anyway, my fellow CitySearchers or viewers. Don't believe the hype and their star ranking. Its a big lie. SYN BAR is a SIN to have around!!!!!! DJ PHATTMATT Pros: ?????... Cons: not entering SYN BAR.... more

A big disappointment 4/24/2007

I made the mistake of having my birthday party at Syn Lounge and was very disappointed. I spoke with the manager, GiGi, and she made it seem like I could invite my friends, bring my own DJ, and have a great party. However, in the middle of the event, she became very controlling and disruptive. She seemed not to realize that this event was bringing in a lot of business. When I went to Syn on the previous weekend to check it out, it was completely empty. The music was not good either. This place is not worth going, and definitely not a good place to throw a party. more

Loved it and became somewhat a weekend regular 4/21/2007

My first review and Blowfish Sushi is gonna be second. We had sushi near the syn lounge and gotta say "WOW". That place is high end in a unexpected area, near Blowfish Sushi. Bravo, with the well planned atmosphere, crowd and drinks. They've got some really neat cocktail martini specials and I really enjoyed the infused mango martini something. When we first headed there, we had no idea what to expect and now have become somewhat regulars. I've only been there on the weekends and can get really busy with positive vibes. The server at Blowfish recommended syn and I thanked her on another dinner occasion. Its such a great place for drinks and to dance your booty away. By the way, its really neat and not cheesy like those big clubs with to much testosterone. Pros: All around well planned, great vibes, busy weekends and not tacky like huge clubs Cons: No valet parking & bouncer said their going to start serving dinner? more

A girlfriend called, while we were at the Red Room. We had a cab take us somewhere between Mission and Potrero Hills. I just remember passing Blowfish Sushi, one block away. It didn't look like much from outside, until we entered. Wow, it wasn't what one would expect. That place has the art/decco theme with rich vibrant colors. The place was really busy, which was a Saturday night. A regular patron said it used to be called the Monkey Bar and the new owner revamped the interior. I can't remember the owner's name, but Bravo to her. The crowd was diverse and not kidish. I dislike establishments that have kids running around and about. Since then, we've been there on numerous occasions and planning a party there. This is our favorite place outside of the Marina. Pros: NY atmosphere lounge, wonderfully hidden to the city folks, romantic ambiance Cons: please, no bridge & tunnel folks more

Sultry style, staff is friendly on top of it and the music is great. 12/5/2006

I was there with a group of friends and we partied all night long. The DJ and hot female bartenders were all on top of it. We had to come back two weeks later and I'll have to say I had the same experience. The place looks so different inside from the mural on the exterior which looks so unique itself (I'm sure it's more enchanting in the daytime). Wow is all I could think, when I go there, I want to dress up and look hot, fyi leave the sports attire and sweats for the ballparks. This is my synsational spot, I'm spreading the news, this is the place to get the best Syn in the City (Strawberry Cosmo). Pros: Service, Music, Bartenders, Ambience Cons: Time flies when you're having fun more

This place is not located in a residential area, so parking is not really too hard to find. The atmosphere is whatever you make it. The bartender are super nice and if you ever want to reserve and area all you have to do is call ahead of time; no charge for it. The drinks seem cheaper too, $6 bucks for a grey goose and cranberry, that's seems good to me!!! Pros: low key Cons: nothing more
