No star at all, I'm throwing it out after two bites. Hard to believe you can mess up Shepherd's pie!

The crab cake (real blue lump crab NO breaded fillers) and fried cheesecake alone are worth giving this place a try. They are my new goto place for the 2 items mentioned in this review. more

Fun Irish Pub Good Music 3/12/2012

I past this place so many times and it was always rocking. I knew I had to check it out. Everyone seemed to know each other. Kind of a neighborhood hang out. I was waiting for my friend and one table kind of adopted me. Bought me drinks and were really funny guys. Good times. I'll be back. more

good food + good service = a place to become a regular! 2/16/2010

Good, comfortable pub -- from the food to music levels to the patrons. A good staple if you live in the area. Service was great too. In one instance, we lost a cellphone in the restaurant. The manager went above and beyond helping recover the cellphone. Superb! Pros: all around comfortable with fairly priced food and drink Cons: cold if sitting near windows more

Friendly, with a non-jock back room 12/12/2008

When I came in, I told the manager that our group would be ""somewhere between 1 and 35 people."" I think he panicked, as he shuffled me off to the back bar. With the heavy rain, competing Xmas parties, and the general economy, we ended up with two. But I LIKED being in the comfortable back bar, with Jimmy, our friendly Irish bartender. The music was NOT too loud, and the other patrons were as friendly as kittens. I had the shepherd's pie... great! and a big portion. Ken had the fish and chips... nothing to write home about. What WAS to write home about was the TALLAMORE DEW, an Irish whiskey that Jimmy introduced us to. Mmmm good. As smooth as a flooded street. Conversation was nice, as was the atmosphere. The football on TV was the only sign of Jockdom in the back. Maybe it's worse in the front bar, but we were spared. --Drink Club NYC is a roving group of NYC drinkers Pros: great back bartender, good Irish whiskey, some good food, Cons: not ALL the food is great, front is loud and crowded more

Great food and beer 8/20/2008

Stopped by Molly Pitchers recently to watch the Yankee game and some Olympic events. The food was great the sliders were yummy and fresh, they were very filling. The selection of beers on tap was great I had a Magic hat # 9 and a few stella's. The bartenders were so friendly they offered us complimentry shots of Jager from the Jager machine. Overall the place was great, real great staff and the service was attentive. I will definitely be back to this great sports bar Pros: Shows every game more

sorry we spent the money. 6/2/2008

the waitstaff was rude and inattentive, and our food took forever-- 50 minutes for sliders and spinach and artichoke dip that came out like a watery soup. three midwestern gals who've all been servers and tip well: i personally was sorry that we even gave them 15 percent out of courtesy. they deserved nothing. more

Modern Irish Bar 2/18/2008

Great bar, great food that gets busy but doesn't suffer from the frat-boy bars that plague many of the bars along Second Avenue. The Bar Staff are all outstanding. No shortage of flatscreens either. Insider tip: If the front bar is all full, check out the Molly's Snug that's attached to the bar. Highly recommended. Pros: Great Food, Get there early for weekend brunch in nice weather Cons: ""The Snug"" (The Back Bar) closes often for private parties more

Rude Service - Steer Clear 7/17/2007

Bar was dead at 8:30 on a Saturday night. Came in for a couple drinks with my date before dinner. After the first drink, the barmaid took our 2nd drink order AND NEVER CAME BACK - she just took an attitude and refused to serve us - we said nothing to her except to take our drink orders. Were we drinking too slowly for her? Anyway, when I inquired about why we were no longer getting table service to the bartender, he said, ""Your drinks are here at the bar, do you want them?"" With that attitude, would you take a drink from this guy? I paid the bill for the first set of drinks and walked out. Won't ever go back. You shouldn't go there either. Cons: Rude Service more

Best Bartender 12/9/2006

Best Place on the Upper East Side 10/6/2006

This place is one of the best bars on the Upper East Side. Greg, one of the owners, is great -- introduces himself to you if you are new and remembers your name the next time you come back. The staff is friendly and the service is great. There is also a bar in the back called the ""Snug"" and the bartender back there is awesome, it's not the same one who was mentioned in an earlier review. Just started serving food so there really is no reason to go anywhere else. It's a great place to come and watch the games or hang with your friends on Friday/Saturday night. Pros: Great staff more

i love this place! 3/27/2006

recently moved to manhattan from boston.. found molly's while hopping along 2nd ave. i LOVE this place! it's my ""regular place"", both for after-work, and for night-life.. the staff - super friendly -- the bartenders - awesome - good drinks, and quick! my sorority held a reunion there in the room they rope off for private parties).. we had a great time.. the price was very reasonable, (compared to a lot of places around here), and the staff was great. we had so much fun, now i even get my girlfriends who work downtown to come all the way up here on fridays! in the 4 months i've been living here and hanging out at molly's, i've always had a good time. -- i just can't wait til they get their kitchen! --fortunately, they let you order food to be delivered there. they said they should have a kitchen soon! Pros: great staff, good crowd, clean bathrooms! Cons: no kitchen yet more

I love this Bar!!! 3/27/2006

Finally a great bar on the upper east side!! I've been to Molly's several times since they opened last summer, and have nothing but great things to say about the staff and owners. One of the owners is always visible meeting and greeting everyone and making sure everyone's having a good time. The atmosphere is nothing like the typical frat-bar scene everywhere else on the block. It's sophisticated and welcoming without being stuffy. Overall, a great place to hang out with friends and meet new ones. Pros: Great staff, Great for sports, Always clean! more

Best bar in Manhattan 10/5/2005

I stumbled upon this bar and let me tell you, this is the best bar I've found in the city. Staff is very friendly. A lot of good looking girls, and a nice place to chill. The owners were on site and were very friendly. The place is 1000 times better than the old whole in the wall bar that was there. Drinks are great, and not expensive at all. The had any game on I wanted to watch, great drink specials durning Sunday football. It's become the place to be for me and my friends. The owner told me no kitchen yet, but allowed us to order food and eat it there. This is the only place for Yankees game, even my Mets friends were happy to see they weren't ignored. Great to watch the game, or run your game on the local beauties. Pros: Staff, Inexpensive, Great Drinks more

Great Bar and Great Staff 9/26/2005
