NEVER USE THIS COMPANY\r Complaint letter that was never responded to:\r Andy Tanglao,\r Despite our agreement below and the supervisor on site for my move on Sunday advised me I had to pay 1 hour of travel time not half an hour. We argued this point and he almost walked off the job saying he'd off load my goods onto the street. \r I had no choice but to authorize payment for 1 hour of travel time being that I was getting held up with goods on the truck. In retrospect I should have called the police.\r \r Additionally upon arrival he had 4 men not 3 and tried to re-negotiate the deal including the per hour charge and 10% discount. All items were on his paperwork (10% discount, half hour travel, 3 men, hourly rate). He also told me it would be a 5 hour move based on the things I had when the whole move start to finished took 1 hour and 35 minutes including a 10 minute discussion about the travel time with all guys stopping work.\r \r This is very unprofessional behavior and I would like the charge reduced by $134 - $67 = $67. In fact I think I should receive a further discount. Look forward to your response. I will on principle contest the charge on my credit card and write this up on multiple on-line review websites should the charge not be reduced. more

In the course of moving me 1.5 miles and charging me $1,300 for a $1,100 quoted move Moishes damaged the front door in my old apartment and an interior door in my new apartment. In both cases they were attempting to jam a couch through the door instead of removing it as would have been appropriate. They have been supposed to send someone out to ""look"" at the door for 8 days now. No one has come. This put me in a very bad situation as my landlord (who I already have an acrimonious relationship with) is still holding my security deposit and won't return it until the door is replaced. \r \r Additionally the guy who headed up my move on the day of must have reminded 10 times that they needed to be tipped. He complained the whole day. more

Run, do not walk away, from this company. A few years ago I needed to move my mother from a residential home she lived in Staten Island for over 30 years to a Brickell Ave Condo in Miami, FL and read many favorable reviews for this company, NY to Fl. The biggest mistake of my life. Not only did a ridiculous amount of items arrive broken, but their guaranteed professional staff ended up being homeless recruits at the delivery site. I would never use them again. Lost several items as breakage and professional service was a joke. Actually, homeless workers were more reliable than the supposed professional staff. This company has no credibility whatsoever. Service is terrible. The best I can say is that they expect to pay for damages. Meaning, don't expect any care in protecting your items. more

Moishe's did a horrible job moving us. This was the worst move - the truck was late by a week, the furniture was scratched, and they charged us $500 for switching trucks upon arrival. The company claims to have great customer satisfaction, but noone called us to apologize or anything like it. Please go with van lines or someone who knows how to actually move people - we made a mistake of believing their promises of speedy delivery and this was a mistake. more

I was very impressed with Moishe's. They did an outstanding job. They were on time, organized, and it was as stress free an experience as a move can be. Matt, the consultant who set up my move was extremely patient and took his time to answer all of my questions and concerns. I had a lot of books to move, which movers often complain about, but they took everything in stride and were very pleasant. They were careful with my things and efficient. I will definitely be using them again and will certainly be referring friends and family. more

We couldn't be happier with the service we received from Moishe's. Our sales consultant, Alex, was responsive, friendly, and helpful, and arranged just the right space for our short-term storage needs. The move-out process was totally seamless, and the moving crew was amazing. They had the contents of a 1BR 5th floor walkup apartment moved out in about 1/2 hour! more

Smooth Move 7/3/2011

Our experience with Moishe's was excellent from start to finish. We had Adi come in to our apartment in Astoria to give us what I thought was an estimate for our move. He was very pleasant, and offered some tips to make the move faster (like using colored dots from Staples on boxes to color code rooms). After calculating everything, he told me he could do the move for $1200. I was under the impression that this price could change, depending on how long the move would take. However, after calling to ask, I was told that in fact, the price given was the price that we would pay. Since this price was lower than two other prices I received, I booked with Moishe's. I was still expecting that I may have to pay more, since it seems that movers always find something else to charge you for. The movers were scheduled to arrive at 9 am on the day of our move. We were up early (5:30 am) so when they called at 7:30 we were happy to have them get started (they did offer to wait until 9 if we were not ready for them). They quickly and carefully moved all our boxes out (we boxed almost everything - it really saves time). Then they wrapped and moved our furniture. They removed the legs from the couch, took the table off the pedestal and removed the headboard from the bed. The entire 2 bedroom apartment was packed up by 9:30 and the movers were on their way to our new house in Merrick on Long Island. The movers arrived at the house around 10:30 (not bad since the truck can't use parkways) and they began to unload and reassemble the furniture they had taken apart for the move. The entire process was done by noon - about four and a half hours. When it came time to pay, I handed over $1200. No extra charges, no hidden fees. For me, that's huge. I highly recommend Moishe's - just make sure you're getting a flat price for the move, that way you'll know ahead of time what you're going to pay. more

A Straightforward Move 6/20/2011

I was apprehensive about calling a moving company because I didn't want to start the tedious process of moving. Finally I called Moishe's after three days of putting it off. Kat was amazingly helpful, walking me through the steps and explaining everything clearly. Kat made the moving process so transparent. I never thought moving could be so clear and simple. Of course the move was long and tiring, but that's to be expected I suppose. Everything went as smoothly as a move can go. I was impressed by the movers apparent skill and professionalism. I have a couple of pieces of antique furniture and I was quite pleased with the care that the movers handled them with. Thanks Kat and Moishe's for a smooth move. more

First move that didn't cause a headache! 5/25/2011

Having had some pretty awful movers in the past, I am always skeptical about hiring moving companies. However, Courtney was super nice and helpful from the beginning. The day of the move I realized I had some stuff I didn't tell them about so I called them up half an hour before my scheduled move and they had no problem and only charged me a little bit more. more

Moving is Easy with Moishe's 5/23/2011

If you can say moving and easy in the same breath, then you've moved with Moishe's. I, like most people dread moving. Last time I moved it was a short move, so I thought I could do it on my own, with only the help of a couple friends. Four trips and nine hours later, the only thing I was glad about, besides the fact that I was done, was the fact that I had a Honda Pilot and not a Civic, otherwise I would have been moving all night. ...So, when I decided to move to The City earlier this year, I knew I was going to hire a professional. I knew I wanted a company that would know the ins and outs of moving in New York City and wouldn't rip me off. I had heard good things about Moishe's, and everything I read about them seemed great. I even saw one of their big red trucks in The City. Every person I spoke with at Moishe's was really helpful, in a way that I usually only associate with small mom-and-pop businesses. The move was a breeze, everything went so smoothly, and nothing was broken! I had always thought that breaking stuff was just a part of moving, but not with Moishe's. I know that I'll be moving with Moishe's again. Thanks to Moishe's, I think I can say, ""moving is easy"". more

Highly Recommend 4/18/2011

Until I moved to New York, I always moved myself. But when I compared the prices of truck rental, plus thinking about all of the heavy lifting and traffic involved, I decided to ask around about moving companies. Several coworkers recommended Moishe's, and when I called to inquire, they were quite helpful on the phone. Then they sent Joel to come to my apartment and examine my belongings for the estimate, which was a little more than I expected. Joel explained that many companies tempt you with a low price that is unrealistic and then add fees at the last minute. I talked to my friends who had used moving companies, and many of them had paid much more than what I was quoted, so I went for it. Well, it all ended up being worth it on moving day, moving from one part of Manhattan to another on a busy Saturday, and these guys were total pros. I couldn't believe how fast they got me into my new place! And it cost exactly what they quoted me, which was a relief. Writing this review is the least I can do, thanks guys! more

Best Moving Experience 4/4/2011

I have been recommending Moishe's to all my friends. The entire experience was easy and painless. From the beginning over the phone with Courtney Moore, she sent us a free kit of boxes and tape, and was extremely professional and courteous. The team that moved us was fast, efficient, and friendly. Ananda the team leader was great, Tomas and the other gentleman, sorry I can't remember his name, were fast yet careful with our belongings. We did a two-apartment move into a single apartment. Their original estimate was $750 but when they finished it only ended up being $450. AWESOME. more

This move was surprisingly easy. 3/23/2011

I'm always stressed when I move. So when I called Moishe's I was ready to put up a fight and get the best deal. Courtney was actually very nice on the phone, and Roi was well-dressed and well-mannered when he came to give me the in-house estimate. The price was a bit more than the other companies, but it's totally worth it. They came on time, loaded the truck, unloaded in the new place, and were very polite the entire time. Nothing was broken or ruined during the move - which is probably a first. Thanks, Moishe's! more

Friendliest Movers I've Ever Had! 3/22/2011

I had just gone through a terrible divorce and the last thing I wanted to deal with was getting ripped off by a moving company. I heard from some friends that Moishe's were trustworthy, and when I called they sent a nice young woman to estimate the cost of my move from the Upper West Side to Brooklyn. I compared the cost with two other companies, and decided to go with Moishe's because I had heard such good things. Well, I am glad I did! Not only did my movers make me feel comfortable and relaxed on an otherwise emotional day, they moved everything so fast, that it was practically painless! They carefully wrapped my furniture and even gave me a free mattress box. I am so glad that my moving day was not a horror story, like my marriage was. Onto bigger and better things, thank you Moishe's! more

Fantastic NYC Moving Company 3/9/2011

I was doing a search for New York moving companies for atleast 3 weeks..reading reviews and doing my due diligence before making a decision. I've moved 2 times in my life and both were disasters. I finally choose moishe's after a specialist came out to my Apt and quoted me on the spot free of charge. The transition was easy, everything was packed correctly and they were on time - No hassle. This move was a breeze compared to my other experiences and I am writing this review to say thanks to Moishe's! more

Reliable Moving Company 2/25/2011

Moishe's showed up on time and were very careful packaging all my belongings. I really appreciate everything they did for me in such short notice. This is a great NYC moving company who I would recommend to anyone! more

Decent Moving Company 12/13/2010

This moving company is not perfect but did a good job. They were a little late and estimates were a little off but they handled all things carefully and were polite. I keep going back and forth with this review because I was so upset at first with the tardiness and estimates that I may have overreacted. After hearing other peoples experiences, I feel lucky. more

MOISHE MOVING WOW WHAT A RIP OFF!!! 8/24/2010

I REGRET EVER HIRING MOISHES MOVERS. I used them yesterday and my estimate almost doubled in packing materials. I told my sales person that I needed some things packed and she told me that they would take care of and gave me a price range. What she didn't tell me was that a box that normally cost $3 will cost me on the day of the move three time that. Movers also repacked some of my book boxes because they said it would be hard to stack them in the truck like that. I guess my liquor boxes weren't strong enough or shaped right for Moishes movers. This is just another excuse to charge me arm and a leg. WHAT A RIP OFF!!! more

A nightmare from the start. 8/22/2010

Run as far as you can. We drove 320 miles to meet the movers at our new home only to hear from the company 5 hours later that movers are still in NY as they had to do one more small job. Also they said that it is getting late and that the movers would leave first thing in the morning to deliver our stuff. We had to stay in the hotel that night with two of our kids that are 3 and 5. Our bed frame was broken and they wouldn't give us a penny back just because it was made of press wood. We had no idea that press wood is not insured, nobody told us anything. I beg you to call someone else. more

Finally a fast and reliable moving company. 2/8/2010

It took us forever to research the right moving company for our Upper East Side studio apartment. I'm glad to have done my research, because once I found Moishe's Moving Systems, I knew the average prices and what other companies were including in their standard price. Moishe?s was a little more expensive then the average moving company but they knew what they were doing and their customer service was more professional than most. On the moving date, they came 15 minutes early to asses the situation. Even though we knew it would be a tough move, they seemed to go about their actions as if it were day-to-day. With a smile, the movers carefully helped pack loose bags, wrapped up the couch, rug, and TV, had plenty of extra wardrobe boxes available, and managed to do what I thought was going to be four hours of work in nearly two hours. Upon arrival to our new apartment, Moishe?s movers were there right after us ready to diligently unload their truck. Unwrapping couches, TVs, boxes, and wardrobe boxes seemed to take a quarter of the time it took to load. Everything arrived safely, without a scratch, and effortlessly. We were very happy with Moishe?s and would recommend them to anyone looking for a quality moving company. Pros: Friendly expert movers w/ quality customer service Cons: A little expensive - you DESERVE only the BEST more
