Moe's Books

I've had good customer service here, and I love their new book section and the great deals in there. I love their kids' books, and their humor, and their cookbooks, and all the books I would never have thought to look at. What confuses me about Moe's, I think, is that for all their floors and floors of books, it's still not the place to go if I want to find a specific book or sometimes even a specific author - even sometimes for new books. Moe's, though, is just the other kind of bookstore - the kind where they always have what you didn't know you needed and didn't know you wanted, in stacks. more

Four floors of used books? It's simply wonderful. Moe's in Berkeley has a huge selection of all types of books with the kind of employees that make scrounging in a bookstore all the more enjoyable. It's easy to get overwhelmed in the sheer number of books contained inside, but not nearly as easy as it is to marvel that an hour has passed by without even making it all the way through a single floor, and there's still the feeling of accomplishment at what has already been examined. What is especially appealing (to me) is that Moe's also contains quite the selection of sheet music and music books (along with books about music). Moe's is definitely something that should be checked out if ever in Berkeley, particularly if in search for a particular book. more

Moe's Books has to be my favorite used book store in Berkeley. It's 4 floors with so many books, I could and do spend hours there just browsing. Even if you're not looking for anything old or out of print (which they carry a lot of), you can be sure to find something for cheap. Try half cover price on all paperbacks! I go there at least once every two weeks and pick up something new for my library. more

Moe's books has probably the largest collection of used books in Berkeley. I think that's great but its difficult to find a specific book and the people who work there talk to you like you're some annoying pest. I love getting deals on books but I really did not enjoy it here...The prices are also not that great. Half Price Books on Shattuck has much nicer service and a much more organized system. more

Moe's Books is located three blocks away from the UC Berkeley campus and it is next to a yummy bakery and a flower shop. It is a two story bookstore and they sell a lot of different kinds of books. They also have a huge selection of magazines and it's a nice place where you can sit and read without worrying about workers bothering you. more

Moe's Bookstore is a Berkeley landmark. They have been in business for over forty years and they are still going strong. Located on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley, Moe's is an independent bookseller which specializes in rare, out of print, used books. They have four floors of rare and antique books that are no longer being published. If you can't find what you are looking for here, chances are they can find it for you elsewhere. Moe's can order hard to find books for you. On Monday nights, Moe's hosts a book reading by local authors. more
