Miss Yip Chinese Cafe is the Worst!!! 11/28/2011

Save your money! I ordered take-out on a Sunday night when visiting my sister in Miami. Food took 1 hr. The ""$18 garlic golden steak"" looked like black rocks in a take out bowl, it was sooo burned. It was missing sauce and veggies. When called to complain, we were told the kitchen was closing in 30 mins and we would not be able to get more food. We were promised a refund by a employee who claimed to be the manager and gave a fake name of Monica. Turns out I was never given a refund. I call them again 1 week later. Only to get told by the manager, Franscio, several times he would ""get to the bottom of this"" and call me back. 10 phone calls later I am told by Franscio ""that a refund would not be possible"". This place is soooo rude, with the worst chinese food I've ever seen (because I could not chew threw the burned steak to tell you how it tasted). This place is going out of business soon, make room for something better! more

Ick! Horrible experience there. 11/9/2010

I went there yesterday for lunch and right when we were finishing up, a huge ROACH crawled up to me. I jumped up in horror! After informing the wait staff, no one seemed to be phased by this extremely disgusting incident. They just let the roach mosey on about it's way. YUCK! more

Pricey and Mediocre 6/7/2009

I know it's South Beach, but when shrimp and black bean sauce costs $18.00, I would expect to get rice with it. When I opened my takeout bag, no rice. I also ordered steamed vegetable dumplings, which were gummy and with little vegetable in the dumplings. A disappointing dining experience but typical of the South Beach food experience. more

Great unique and relatively healthy chinese 5/1/2008

I loved our meals here. Soups were great, noodles were great, chicken was great, seafood was great...need I say more. The drinks were even fun and creative. Strongly recommend...Miss Yip's is up there with my favorite Chinese across the country. more

great dim sum 2/9/2008

what a pleasant surprise! i've had chinese from coast to coast & generally am not impressed- but this was truly a step up from what i expected. the wine list was OK and reasonably priced- we had a great sauvignon blanc. the food was fresh with great flavors & textures. the service was attentive and better than most of the places i've been to in south beach. wonderful ambience- worth checking out. Pros: good food Cons: smallish wine glasses more

Looks pretty but the taste ...bland 12/8/2007

We ordered for delivery and very basic: wonton soup, chicken and broccoli and szechuan chicken. The soup had absolutly no taste, the shrimp wontons were very bland and the broth was as clear as water( and tasted like water as well). The chicken and broccoli had no flavor and the szechuan chicken was very spicy very pretty but not memorable. They told me that they do not use MSG but the texture of the chicken was spongy.. the tab was $42.75 and totally not worth it. I would not order from them again. The presentation was very pretty if that is worth something.. Pros: Nice presentation, fast delivery Cons: Very bland more

Best Chinese Food in South Florida 8/13/2007

Miss Yip offers not only the best flavors of Chinese Food, but also has an ambiance that makes you feel as though you are in Asia with the service etiquette to boot. Always greeted with a smile and prompt service, quick to take your order and shortly after served a fresh hot plate of sumptuous cuisine. A place where you want to bring your family and friends to celebrate even your night out. Pros: Great food and service more

Fresh, Tasty Chinese Food 7/3/2007

Always fresh. Extremely tasty. I have eaten at hundreds of great and not so-great Chinese restaurants,, and Miss Yip's is REALLY GOOD. Dumplings are always fresh and never greasy. Shrimp-fried rice is excellent and my favorite is the Orange Beef. Truly Upscale, frsh prepared Chinese fare. The only Chinese restaurant worth going to anywhere in South Beach. more

great chinese food 6/7/2007

by far, this is one of the best chinese restaurants to go eat. The food is great, esp the sweet and sour chicken, and the dim sum is fabulous. highly recommended. Pros: great service Cons: a bit pricey more

Great Ambience 10/20/2006

Like eating in 1930's Shanghai... glamourous red and pretty with little decorative details everywhere. The menu has all the standard chinese offerings, we tried a bunch of them and they were all good... but the drinks were the surprise, creative and delicious. more

Love this place-food-service-atmosphere. I take all my friends and family who come to Miami Beach to this place. Reminds me of New York. Pros: everything more

too bad Miami thinks this is Chinese food 10/27/2005

pretends to be authentic but it doesn't have half the taste of a Chinatown joint in NY or SanFran. But, hey what can you do about that down here? Pros: some dim sum, good ambience Cons: bland, expensive more

The best in South Beach! 6/10/2005

The only place to go for authentic Chinese food in South Beach! Decor and food match each other well and for drinks afterwards, Buck 15 is upstairs... Best dishes are probably the Chef's Special Crispy Snapper and Chef's Peking Shrimp... more
