My family has lived in our apartment in East Harlem (Misrahi/Brownstone's lone Uptown property) for almost two years. Maintenance rarely shows up as scheduled... they're more like a cable company then a building management group when it comes to timeliness. The building is dirty, and the laundry room equipment out of date and out of order with relative frequency.
The roof of our building has had problems longer than we've lived here, and they've persisted in band-aiding the issue rather than actually sucking it up and replacing the roof. As a speak I've got the couch in our main living area decked out in garbage bags and surrounded by buckets and pots collecting water. Not a great situation for adults, let alone a two year old. They'll be losing us as tenants in the very near future if they choose to continue putting off these repairs.
