Rapid downhill slide 5/30/2008

Something has changed here in the past 6 months or so. Have been getting salad rolls and pad thai to go here for years. Suddenly, the peanut sauce has changed, the pad thai is bland, nothing but a pile of soggy noodles, and has half the shrimp it used to. Gave them one last shot yesterday, asked about changes and was assured nothing has changed. Do they think their customers are really too stupid to notice? more

Miso crappy... 1/9/2008

To make this short and sweet... yes you would think the odds of finding a terrible restaurant on such a place as 23rd Ave. are slim. You might say most people would trust any restaurant on the trendy strip to be better than mediocre, but au contrare. Misohapi is by far the worst thai/vietnamese place around. Despite the cute name of the joint, the server was rude, the service was terrible and the food was beyond horrendous. I ordered the fried rice. FRIED RICE! how can you possibly go wrong with fried rice! I took one bite and couldn't finish the rest it was so bad. My boyfriend, who ordered the pad thai couldn't even stomach it, we immediately, after tasting it, asked for our bill, got up and left. It was by far the worst restaurant I have ever ever been to. EVER! Pros: good location...cute name... Cons: everything despite the pros. more

Fantastic! 7/26/2006

We have been here many times and I must say that it is one of the most consistent restaurants in Portland! The food is always hot, tasty and delivered in a timely manner by polite and friendly wait staff. We will continue to be regulars for as long as they keep serving! Pros: Great food, friendly staff, bargain prices Cons: parking, sometimes.. more

Cheap, basic Asian food 4/16/2005

If you like asian food, like large helpings and aren't a food snob this is the place for you. The dishes are huge and cheap. Presentation and flavor are at best average. Pros: Cheap, Large Portions, Prompt service Cons: Food quality more

Great People and Service 3/23/2005

The food was delicious and fast! The servers were very pleasant with us, even though we came towards closing. It's nice and simple but great decor. Can go there for a more relax meal or dress up. more

Fast, Cheap, good 5/8/2004

Great lunch specials with a somewhat limited menu. You will be stuffed and only spend $5-6... not many places in NW that can happen. Dinner is affordable to. Beef and Basil meal is my favorite. Service is great, and extremely fast... almost scary fast actually! Pros: inexpensive, location, service more

Wesohapi too 11/11/2003

Our fav place on 23rd for dinner. The men especially like the good portions (each oval dinner plate filled to the brim). We each order our favorite, then eat family style. My fav is Lemongrass chicken...but I really need to try some different things. Waiters always friendly..inobtrusive, decor could be spiffed up a bit, but who cares if the food is good. We always walk up to Papa's afterwards for dessert. Pros: Inexpensive, Not crowded, prompt service Cons: parking, it's 23rd! more

Heaps of tasty SE Asian Food 4/2/2003

Cheap to fair prices, large servings of food. The interior is modern and more designed than you'd expect for a place with prices this cheap. It's always been pretty empty when I've been there, so I'm seated right away and service is attentive and very prompt but also inobtrusive. The spring rolls are crisp and greasy but light, and everything I've ever had is tasty. They're very nice about not using fish sauce when I ask, so there's a lot for vegans (and vegetarians). The menu is large and runs from Vietnamese to Thai, with a few Japanese[ish] items. Pros: cheaper, huge portion, service, taste, large menu more

Hearty and tasty 2/4/2003

Substantial Thai food. You get an abundance of food for your money. May not have the most delicate of flavors, but it's good and there is plenty to go around the table. Friendly staff. The salad rolls with shrimp are the best I've ever had. No wait to sit down. Pros: Substantial, Value for $, Salad rolls Cons: Parking sometimes more

Great food, decent service, and fair prices. Always a sure thing. I try to go once a month. more

What the heck? 12/26/2002

The service wasn't just bad, it was awful. There's this notion that Asians will provide terrible service to other Asians, I SERIOUSLY think that was the situation here. The food: go to Phony-Noodle-Bowl at any mall and you'll find comparable taste. This is truly one of the worst places that's been recommended by others. Pros: Service, Service, Service more

BEST THAI IN PDX 12/8/2002

I left happy! 11/4/2002

This restaurant is great. The prices are affordable and the food is yummy. I would definitely recommend this to my friends! Pros: Good food, Good location, Great service more

jury is out 9/15/2002

i don't see what is so special about this place other than it's trendy location. The food is decent and the price is decent, but it's nothing out of this world...of course, to be fair- i've only been here once. Pros: decent value Cons: parking hard to find more

Hmmm... 8/20/2002

The fried rice is KILLER, but, the eggrolls are full of grease. The service is great, I don't know what everyone was talking about. I am ALWAYS seated promptly, and given great service. Last time I went, I had lunch, and I didn't want what was on the menu, so they gladly gave me the dinner menu. What a great place. Only thing I wish is that they would dust their lamps... Pros: Good Food, Good Service, Inexpensive Cons: NO PARKING, Odd Location more

Great food 8/12/2002

I've been to Misohapi many times and the food and service has always been great. The prices are inexpensive and the portions are huge. My favorites to order are the salad rolls, pad thai and my favorite chicken. Pros: inexpensive, authentic, large portions Cons: parking can be tricky more

Pretty Good 6/16/2002

I have eaten here many times and also gotten take-out a lot. I love their Spring Rolls, Garden Rolls, and most of their vegetarian rice dishes. The service is wonderful and very fast! They always give me a complimentary drink while I wait for my food(if its take out). The atmosphere is great for talking and laughing out loud. more
