The Great MInnesota Get Together 9/21/2005

The Minnesota State Fair is a great way to spend a day. There is so much to do at the State Fair, that I don't know where to begin! I'll start with the food. The State Fair has the best food and almost everything is available on a stick! This year, my favorite "on a stick" item was the pickle's on a stick. I have no idea why, but they are really good. There are always new foods to try at the State Fair. Don't forget Fair Food staples like: cheese curds, Sweet Martha's cookies, French Fries and corn on the cob! Now, moving on what to do at the Fair. The fair is a great place to see lots of animals. I recently discovered the technology building. The technology building is really cool. The education building always has good freebies. In addition to the buildings, there are lots of rides, concerts and other booths to visit. I contend that one really needs to spend two days at the Fair to see it all. The best part of the Fair is people watching. You really see everything at the State Fair. The worst part of the Fair is that it is crowded, bathrooms are sometimes messy and people can be frustrating. It's also not cheap. Overall, I give a big thumbs up to the State Fair more

State Fair 8/30/2005

State Fair is a cultural experience, a must-go for almost everyone at least every few years. Be prepared for tons of overpriced junk food, crowds with strollers rolling over your feet, rides and games (some fun and some ridiculous), but also some great educational exhibits (my favorite is Agricultural building – flowers are just beautiful). Also be prepared to drop a lot of money in the process. more

Food and fair 8/20/2005

The state fair has everything, crowds, food, animals, rides, and other things only seen at the fair. This trip can get costly--costs to get in and everything inside costs money. It is one of the biggest state fairs and definitely a must see once, but if you don't like crowds, this is not the place for you. If you like animals and 4-h then you will like the fair. more
