At here 12/4/2012. The owners were gracious and the food was awesome. Fresh, seasoned just right. Prices are reasonable. more

Husband and I found this place on the way to the civic center just last night. We had the gyro and it was great. My husband said it was the closest he's had since going to Greece. Was fresh, great flavor and the owner was very personable - love finds like this. more

Great Food! Awesome Hooka Lounge! 11/5/2011

I'm not sure why some people did not have a good experience here but personally, I had a wonderful experience. Yes, the owner may be a bit talkative but when do you go to a restaurant where the owner actually cares enough to talk to you? And if you want a typical burger or sandwich, then go to a franchise restaurant because you definitely won't get what you want here if you're just looking for a quick bite and a cheaper price. My friend and I decided to stop by this place just last week and we enjoyed every bit of our experience. We ordered the gyro sandwich, chicken kabob (THE BEST!), and a hummus appetizer. The seasoning for each dish was distinctive and very delicious and the overall experience was delightful and authentic. Also there is a hooka lounge upstairs that is absolutely fantastic! The owner stayed up late just so we can enjoy our time up there. If you don't go for the food, at least go for the hookas! There were so many different flavors to choose from and the experience is definitely worth the pay. more

Run for the hills. Was good back in the day. Same high price 9/28/2010

Cheap decor with tables covered in plastic wrap. Tables not bussed, all dirty dishes were plied up in one corner of the dining area. No other customers. Run by one man who watches TV in the dining area. He takes your order, runs to the back, heats something quick and brings it to the front and continues his TV watching. AC and most of the electrical equipment seemed to be turned off including kitchen equipment God forbid if you order anything ""American"" (E.g. Grilled cheese) or things he doesn?t want you to order. He forced one of us to eat these terrible oily falafel because she ordered grilled cheese (She ordered GC only because he wouldn?t shut up and take her order. He wanted to force her to get something more expensive than what she wanted; talk about a tough upsell). I got Gyros that had some meat, some old lettuce and a piece of bread drenched in olive oil. Most of our party felt very ill after that. Once you were forced to try things you didn?t want to try and were given your dishes, the man, he comes back and continues to watch TV in the dining area and he wouldn?t shut up about politics and of course you better not give your opinion. We couldn?t have a normal conversation. more

Avoid!! 10/15/2009

I tried this restaurant once and got terrible food poisoning from the spanakopita (it tasted odd, as if it were old). The place doesn't seem to be that clean. Eat at your own risk! Pros: None! Cons: Over-priced, SLOW service, poor quality, etc. more

Aboslutely Fantastic! 11/23/2008

I went to this place about a month ago and the food was absolutely amazing!!!! I ordered the felafel and the hummus and they we're both wonderful. You could tell that the felafel was hand made and not processed as well as the hummus. The service was pretty good too. The owner, a Persian man, was kind and friendly. There is also a hooka bar on the second floor where many SCAD students tend to hang out. There was a variety of selections on the tobacco and the atmosphere was very ""homey"" and comfortable. The area is decorated with several oriental rugs and table cloths and you can even have a table set out on the balcony as you enjoy your hooka. Overall I recommend this place to ANYONE. Great place and great food. Pros: Great food qualty and atmosphere Cons: A bit overpriced but well worth it! more

Worse Falafel and Service 10/21/2008

I stopped in on a Monday afternoon for lunch and there were no customers, so this should have been a great sign that the food was not so hot. My husband and I order lunch to go. There was only one person running the restaurant, who was also the cook. My first thought after looking over the menu was that the food was extremely over priced. The menu consist of merely street food and the appetizers, salads and sides are as expensive as the entrees. I ordered the Falafel, which is something I have eaten at many places in the US and over seas. Pros: The Frech Fries were good Cons: Expensive and Poor Service more

Excellent middle eastern food and hookah bar 10/18/2008

I live in Savannah and pass this restaurant often. I decided to try it the other night and was very pleased. Their gyros and hummus are fantastic. The owner is also very friendly and hospitable. You can also go upstairs to a hookah bar and choose from quite a few flavors of high quality imported tobacco. The pricing is quite reasonable for the quality food you receive. I would definitely recommend supporting this local business, their food and hookahs are amazing and the customer service is unbeatable. Pros: Service was great, food was delicious, hookah bar with balcony outside, high quality tobacco Cons: not the trendiest place to eat more

Over priced 9/8/2008

The place had more of a cafe atmosphere (no air conditioning) and the food was definitely over priced. The appetizers cost as much as the entree's and were not really very impressive. The table's needed to be wiped down and there was only one person taking all the orders and cooking the food. The person running the place is Persian which i believe is not really middle eastern. The food was more Mediterranean style than middle eastern. more

FANTASTIC Food! 6/28/2008

Don't want to be a ""tourist?"" Looking for a new ""secret"" place to take friends? This is one of those resturants. This Greek food resturantis run by one man--the owner--who is extremely personable and puts great care into his food. Every item we've tried has been flat out amazing and we often crave the hummus alone. The only reason this place isn't mobbed is because it doesn't look like much. On Montgomery, across from the Court House, it's stuck inbetween a Law office and a Bail Bondsman! The interior looks sparse and dodgy, but once you try the food (and company!) you'll always come back. Pros: Truly amazing food--on par with more expensive options on the River. Went here for all of our major event dinners! He's done cater work for SCAD and the Intern'l Fest! Cons: Meter parking only, service can be slow if there are a few tables since everything is done by one guy. more

Amazing food, funny cook 8/11/2007

I ate here the first time I came to Savannah, and I fell in love. The restaurant decoration is hodge-podge and may have been a hole-in-the-wall chinese place at one point. Do not let appearances fool you!!! The food is prepared fresh by the quirky owner (who is not afraid to give you the 4-1-1 on any menu item.) A little pricey for my budget as a college kid, but perfect for lunch or dinner with friends. To start, try the sekanjamine - it's a minty drink. Vegetarian? Get the falafel (if you want fries or salad, you have to order it separately. The gyro wrap does come with fries.) Meat-eater? Try the gyro platter at around $12. You get hunks of gyro meat, pita, salad, and the lightest, tastiest calamari you will ever sink your teeth into. No, really! more
