DO NOT HIRE MICHELLE BURKE for photography 4/28/2011

I was appalled when I saw all these terrible reviews, so it wasn't just us?! I had to post... something I've never done... but this is warranted. Our wedding was in 2004, and it still stings....to be honest we were not demanding... we were really quite easy on her during the wedding, letting her have free reign both at our wedding and reception (we fed her dinner both nights, she could drink as much as she wanted...we opened up to her), not being too prescriptive with shots we wanted, etc. She did it her way. What burns most is even though it took me over a year to figure out what photos I wanted to print, when I chose not to pick one of her 'packages' she became nearly beligerent. Our relationship soured and I was put off by her Jekyll and Hyde personality. I met her in her office in an ActivSpace building in SE and she promised me proofs on a CD, which I had to again beg her for. We had it out on the phone when I finally asked her to please send me the images she promised, I even gave her a credit card to charge for some of the prints I did want, she never delivered on that, and later a CD did show up in the mail with VERY LOW RESOLUTION images, not worthy of printing. So I have my photos but they could have been better produced on a Canon pocket camera. REALLY? this is how a professional photographer conducts herself? Frankly I think she had emotional issues and was not in a frame of mind to deal with the general public. It takes a certain type of person to be able to deal with people on what is a very emotional day in their lives, and Michelle could not cut it, we regretted hiring her over a friend who would have charged us the same price. Hopefully she has ceased ripping other people off... had to give one star because the site makes me, but frankly she deserves ZERO and a negative report to the Better Business Bureau. more

Where in the world is Michelle Burke? 6/24/2010

After nearly four years we decided to pony up the cash and pay for a photo book so that we could get the rights to our high resolution wedding images. Instead of finding Michelle's website, I found the horrifying reviews posted here. I have no words to describe how shocked and saddened I am at the prospect of not having my wedding pictures to have and hold. I refuse to accept that she isn't out there and able to provide us with what we paid for. Please, if any one has any information on her whereabouts, please contact me: allararos@gmail. more

Wow, guess I was lucky 3/14/2009

Looks like I was lucky, I got our proofs, CD of photos and a release form so I could at least print copies of my wedding pictures. But Michelle was kind of rude during the wedding to our guests and was uncooperative when it came to taking the posed photos, she prefered to take candid shots...sorry hun, it's my wedding and I want posed photos too. \r \r I attempted to order a photo album from her and faxed her a list of pictures I wanted to include in September of 2007. Numerous phone calls and emails have gone unanswered so I finally gave up after about 6 months. I'm glad I didn't pre-pay for it. Thank goodness I ended up getting the copyright to my photos.\r \r Pros: I got my CD of pictures Cons: Expensive, rude to wedding guests, never got a photo album more

How could you do this? 10/23/2008

I am literally...sick to my stomach. Michelle, I know that at some point you WILL read this, and I just want you to know how truly disappointed that we are with you. How can you do this to those that entrusted you with what was the happiest day of their lives? If you would just contact me, I could almost forgive the $2500 that was given to you both prior to our wedding and last year, in your studio, to prepay for our wedding album. You took the money from me, probably knowing that you had no intentions of ever producing our album. Nick and I were married on March 27th, 2004...yes, I said 2004! You consistently over-promised and under-delivered. I beg of you...please give us the only memories of our wedding day that you have. They mean nothing to you and everything to us. I am just asking for our photos on a CD. Please. \r Those with any information, please contact me at christine.m.jones@comcast.n_t or christine.jones@onecoast.c_m more

hope this helps 6/20/2008

try pocket meadow farms-honey\r (google)\r good luck.\r Hope y' all get your pictures back, can't imagine how disheartening that is to never get them more

Scammer, scammer, scammer.... 6/2/2008

It sounds like we were the lucky ones to at least have gotten our proofs before Michelle went AWOL. Needless to say, we have tried every avenue to contact her, all to no avail. A handwritten letter was even returned. Her photos were alright, but our grandfather took equivalent quality photographs, so thankfully, we had something to plug into homemade albums. Michelle gave us a proof book and CD which are both copyrighted, so we can't even print those off. \r \r Not that you would, because there is no way of contacting her, but DO NOT HIRE MICHELLE BURKE to take your pictures for any reason. She charmed us into giving her money with empty promises of a wonderful product. \r \r Michelle,\r If you happen to read this, I hope you realize that you have taken what is supposed to be one of the most memorable events of more than a few couples and tainted it with feelings of anger and helplessness. At the very minimum, you should contact those you have left stranded and give them non-copyrighted CD's of their pictures, so they can have them printed out themselves. Pros: Friendly Cons: We still have no wedding pictures for which we paid $2,000 ! ! ! more

Do not hire her! 5/14/2008

I have been trying to get my fully pre-paid album from Michelle for over two years. My husband and I married in March 06. After aboout 16 months of excuse after excuse, she has stopped aswering e-mail or returning calls. In fact her phones have been disconnected. If anyone out there has information on Michelle, please post it! Needless to say, I'm heart broken not to have picture from my wedding. Please help me if you can!\r Beth more

Time for small claims court... 4/30/2008

Wow - I cannot believe she has screwed over so many people. My husband and I are going to small claims court tomorrow to file a claim against Michelle Burke for violating her contract with us. If you would like to join, please feel free to contact me at jenniferk44 at yahoo. The more people that come forward, the better the chance that we'll all win our cases and hopefully get our money and albums! It's unbelievable that someone would do this to us and ruin what should be one of our happiest days. more
