Metropolitan Veterinary Center was established in 2012 by Dr. Kjerstin Jacobs and Dr. June LaFave. They founded the practice based on their observation that there was an unmet need for high quality, reasonably priced medical and surgical care for Chicago’s beloved pets, not only on weekdays, but on weekends and late evenings as well.
Typical Veterinary practices close early on weekdays, have very abbreviated hours on Saturdays, and are closed on Sundays. This leaves pet owners with the unfortunate options to reschedule their own busy work hours to make an appointment, or to take their pet to an expensive emergency clinic after hours. Unfortunately, many “day practices” are unequipped to handle emergencies, and no emergency clinics are equipped to handle preventative medicine, such as wellness visits and vaccines. Metropolitan Veterinary Center has created a convenient state-of-the-art practice to provide advanced, comprehensive care.
