Nashville International Airport-BNA includes the Berry Field Airfield, which opened on 340 acres in 1937. The airport includes more than 4,500 acres. It is served by more than 16 airlines that operated 415 flights to 97 markets in 2005. Nearly 8.7 million passengers and 75,000 tons of cargo were served or handled by the airport in 2004. Its terminal complex includes an 820,000-square-foot passenger terminal with 61 air carrier gates and as many as 78 commuter aircraft parking positions.
