My perspective is from a resident who has empty buses screaming by all day long and much of the night. These buses could be quiet passenger vans as they do not carry more than one or two persons, presumably to their next connection. Some of those screaming short buses stop at our condo corner and the customers leave us with McDonald's cups and wrappers--even set in the trees and the number cigarette butts they leave for us to clean up is appalling. We plant flowers, have invested in an attractive monument and care for the lawn while the Metro Transit customers trash us. Also these short buses serve 26 businesses just 1/2 mile down the street and the buses could easily drive into this Centennial Lakes shopping area and serve all of these businesses--while the customers now have to walk in the snow, heat or rain to their destination. This does not make sense--take them and their cigarette butts to their place of employment and let the business clean up after them. (they would have shelter while waiting) Also the short bus drivers are NASTAR wannabees and scream around the corner here making the worst noise. Please use more concern for those of us living along bus lines by using the Cenntennial Lakes shopping center for your passengers and stop using our condo corners for your bus stops (excepting for regular commuter buses who do not fall into this category), and please ask the drivers to drive around corners and start and stop as any of us drivers of vehicles do. (stopping for the walk signal helps too!) We all will be happier!
