Metro Sportz Bar

So since I moved here from the east coast 3 years ago... Ive been searching for a REAL local bar with great inexpensive bar food and ice cold cheap beer served to me by a real person not some cookie cutter robot with a nametag serving me crappy burgers for $10.00 and mugs of beer for $5.00. Guess what I found it!!! and by accident. I was driving through my grandparents old neighborhood and past the amusemnet park (Castles & Coasters) we used to go to many years ago. Hungry and thirsty i ran across Metro Sportz Bar. I walked in ordered a beer then another while having a conversation with the bartender who was not only hot but offered great conversation. I took a look at a menu and decided to call my brother to meet me. Long story short we spent the afternoon there and had two of the best philly cheese steak sandwiches ive ever had for a great price. like ten bucks for a huge ice cold mug of beer and a huge philly steak. Weve been back many times and have everything on the menu but since weve had the burgers its tough to order anything else THERE AWESOME! $3.00 for a huge mug of beer and drinks during happy hour were like two bucks!! I don't know what BLUESTEEL is talking about but I've been going to Metro Sportz Bar and it's fantastic! It's under new ownership and it's EXTREMELY clean. There is always something going on. It's a great place to watch sports and a perfect place for pool! The drink prizes are low, even when it's not happy hour. It's a great place to go! more

THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE! THE POOL HALL IS LIKE 100 DEGREES NO AC! IN PHOENIX AND WHEN YOU GO IN SOMETIMES IT SMELLS LIKE SEWER OR ROACH POISON! AND THE FOOD IS GROSS! I have been going to Metro now for around 6 years. If you?re a pool player this is a great place to go. There is a tournament every night. There tournament director is one of the best in town. He also operates a small pro shop where you can get work done on your sticks. The service used to stink, but within the last couple of years it has really picked up. The servers are all cute and the beer is cold. Cold Beer and hot chicks, what else could you ask for. Pros: Great poll and fun staff more

For those of you who shoot pool and like to drink and are not hung up on the whole smoking issue, this is the place. And the owner who i have been hearing alot about sounds like a stand up guy. what more reason to go. For those of you that are mad or upset that he's standing up to the state? well i guess its pretty simple, go somewhere else. there are hundreds of other bars you can frequent. pick one, and give this one the credit it deserves. The food at this place is the worst ever and the atmosphere is also one of the very worst. The owner thinks he is special and doesnt have to follow the state laws. He is taking his unprofessional stance by fighting democracy. Yes-fighting democracy. The smoking ban passed by 500,000+ votes. The law is the law.
