Merry Maids

I've been a regular customer for years and I've never had any major problems with them. I wish I could afford them weekly. Yes, the first cleaning is on the pricey side but after that it's considered ""maintenance"" and they charge a standard fee. When I first started the service, I asked for Saturdays but was told they only work Mon-Fri so I'm not sure how that reviewer got a Sat. appt. They're certainly better than the other maid service in our area. more

Merry maids were recommended to me by friends that were happy with their first time cleaning. So i tried them even though they are a bit expensive. They had great cleaning products but their vacuum looked old, so I asked if they could use mine. I was happy with them and called again two months later only this time they were not as good. They were a bit sloppy, I shouldn't have to keep on top of them and look at every little detail. If I ask to clean under the bed,clean under the entire bed. Not vacuum half the side and leave the other side full of dust!!!! The worst part is I recommended them to a friend and her first time was not only really horrible but so expensive, i felt so bad. I have used this service twice, the first time I was blown away by the excellent service, However the second time I was very disappointed. I called three weeks in advance for a Saturday appointment, b/c they are very busy on the weekend. It was confirmed that I would have the same two girls as last time. I was having a big party and needed the whole apartment cleaned from top to bottom and was willing to not only pay $300 but tip the girls as well. The day before my party I noticed that I did not get a confirmation call, when I called and spoke to Tanya (the manager) she said that no one was available to come. Outraged I asked why I did not get a phone call, and was told that Saturdays can not be confirmed b/c all the girls want off. That was just a load of B.S. Saturdays are when everyone need their house to be cleaned. In the end I had to get my mom and sister to help me clean the whole house. About 6 months later we were having another big party and my husband suggested that I give them one more try. So I called and spoke to Tanya and asked for the same two girls that I had the first time. Only one of the two came and although they did an o.k job it still wasn't as good as the first time. After speaking to the people I know who also use merry maids they agreed with me, that the first time is good and each one after is not. I no longer use them. Pros: they bring good quality products Cons: they don't commit to the date set more
