DONT LIVE HERE--SAVE YOURSELF! 6/22/2010

I don't even know where to begin so I'm just going to list everything the Meridian at Courthouse Commons did to make the year I lived there one of the worst renter's experiences I've EVER encountered. -gave my roommate and I the WRONG apartment. Showed us an apartment overlooking the city, switched the number/wing and we ended up stuck in a smaller apartment facing the courtyard and all the other apartments looking into our window. When we asked to switch to our original apartment we viewed and agreed upon, the leasing department refused and we were not compensated for ANYTHING. This included the additional costs associated with delaying our move (uhaul truck, movers, utility bills, etc.) -RUDE RUDE RUDE management. Kelly Rim personally called me at work to scream and yell that our claim that our apartment was a "bait and switch" and that we would not be moving out as we were in a contract with the apartment they gave us. She took on absolutely no responsibility or remorse for the mistake and was abrasive, bullying, and completely dominating, not allowing me any reprieve from the situation. -The Meridian has a deal with a local towing agency allowing them access to their garage to tow any car in the surrounding area, regardless of parking permit. Even if you have a sticker, your car could get towed out of the lot *as happened to my roommate when she had a temporary pass upon moving in and was not reimbursed for the fee of getting her car back. -Locked in their loading dock for one hour after we threw out garbage (where the larger garbage dumpsters are located). We were locked in the outdoor loading dock in the middle of January, from the inside out. We had to pull the fire alarm to be let out after screaming and banging on doors for 45 minutes. The fire department revealed this had happened multiple times prior to our experience and Meridian still hadn't fixed the problem. -RUDE STAFF- I didn't talk to one helpful person in my year's tenure at Courthouse C more

Raquetball courts, good views and a decent local 3/25/2006

The Meridian is a great place to live, especially if you can get in on some of the good pricing deals during slow months. The rent does not raise too terribly each year. The apartments are nice, though most have fairly small kitchens and bathrooms. They do have a nice little courtyard, pool and great racquetball courts. It is a short walk to Clarendon where there is great shopping and restaurants and a short walk as well to the Courthouse Metro and movie theater. more

moderately priced in safe area 8/12/2005

This apartment complex is about an 8 minute walk to the Courthouse Metro located on the Orange Line. There's a polic station that's on the next block, so you can be assured of your safety. The building offers studious, 1, and 2 bedroom apartments. Many of the apartments have a sunroom which can be used as a dining area, office space, or can be converted into a third bedroom. The apartments are spacious and fairly new. The staff isn't always that helpful or knowledgeable, though they usually do get your requests fulfilled. The building has a small gym with treadmills, older elliptecal machines, some weight machines, and a small free weight room. There's 2 racquetball courts, a small pool that doesn't get a lot of sun, and a nice lounge area with a tv and deck that overlooks downtown DC and is a perfect place to view the July 4 fireworks. There's also grills that is free to use. It's generally a nice place to live. It won't be cheap, but that's how Arlington is - you pay for the proximity to DC and the convenience of the metro. more
